Halo, bar goers! I'm sure everyone knows about Harry's Bar when it comes to Happy Hours, but are you aware that Harry's Bar is not just a bar?

Harry's Bar at Clark Quay has recently launched an all-new menu with 50 over items! I am honored to be invited by Reka from OpenRice for a food tasting

Harry's at Clark Quay, with a travel-themed has a warm & cozy ambiance

Heehee... so true!

Wefie while waiting for food to be served

The tasting started off with Harry's Premium Lager beer ($13) followed by some small plates

The crispy Fish Cracklings ($13) served with aioli dip is super addictive I can't stop munching on it

Crab & Potato cakes ($16 for 6pcs). Packed with generous amount of shredded Blue swimmer crab meat and mashed potato served with Sriracha tomato dip. This proves to be a hit among the small plates

Harry's Signature Wings ($13 for 6pcs, $19 for 10pcs), coated with secret recipe spices and served with homemade chili jam. The wings on it's own taste a little tom yum to me thou =D

Jalapeno Steak Sliders ($13 for 3). The Mini burgers with tender beef strips and charred bell peppers, served with Jalapeno cheese sauce. Surprisingly, it doesn't have the cheesy taste at all.

By now, we were being served with Harry's Signature drink, Dirty Harry ($16). Concoction of Vodka, brown sugar and lychee liqueur with a dash of zing from freshly cut lime wedges, served with a sweet canned lychee. Super delish and the brown sugar adds a hint of crunchiness to the drink. Since Sam doesn't drink, I can't be more glad to help her finish up her's.

Up next, the big plates (main dish).

Chicken Masala $23, served with charcoal bread. Ain't a fan of Indian food served outside since my Indian friend's mum is a superb cook, but the Chicken Masala served at Harry's tasted as good as home-cooked dish. Charcoal bread served at the side is also soft & fluffy. Definitely a dish I would order on my next visit

Crabmeat Spaghettini ($23). It is supposed to be spicy but I couldn't taste a single hint of spiciness. Also, it was way too watery to even taste the tomato nor the crab flavor

After the main dish comes dessert. Toffee Apple Crisp Tart ($14), with thinly sliced apple on crust pastry, drizzled with salted caramel sauce and topped with vanilla ice cream. The dessert doesn't impress me as the pastry is rather tough. Texture of ice cream feels & taste more like clotted cream

Last but not least, dessert was paired with a sparkling Cinzano Prosecco ($13.50) wine to end the dinner on a sweet note.

Wefie again =) Don't say I bo jio ok! If you want to be invited to awesome food tasting, join OpenRice now!

Fooling around with the props while waiting for group picture to be taken. This prop is just so me!

Thank You, Reka for the invite.

I will definitely be back for more =)

Christmas Eve Dinner Smile Dec 26, 2013
Categories : Café

Impromptu dinner date with Ivy & Angela on Christmas eve. Didn't know where to go, I suggested on Fullhouse Signature cos I went to the previous one at Rendezvous hotel & it's very good.

Wanted to order 2 of the appetizer + some ala carte items but both the appetizers were out of stock, so we settle on the Christmas set meal

Meal started with Chamagne & soup (choice of wild mushroom or turkey chowder). I opt for turkey chowder with is a little creamy & sweet. The girls opt for wild mushroom

Fullhouse Christmas salad - well, it's actually the fullhouse salad with poached egg, drizzle with balsamic dressing. It also comes with a cheese stick which is not too cheesy for me.

Main course - choice of Cod Fish or Steak. The girls opt for Cod Fish while I opt for steak. Steak is nicely done, & it's fresh.

Dessert - choice of banana paradise or Molten Cake. All of us opt for Molten cake, which is served with vanilla ice cream. Ice cream taste a little light & not much of vanilla fragrance. Molten cake is sweet & lava flows when its being fork in.

Celebration:  聖誕節

Baked Taro is good OK Dec 26, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Chinese Desserts | Desserts and Cakes

After our dinner at Serenity, we head over to Honeymoon desserts for some local desserts.

Watermelon with grass jelly is disappointing as the entire dessert is totally bland.

Rice ball with sweet potato in ginger soup is good. The ginger soup is very strong in flavor. Those who does nto have a threshold of spiciness, do not order this

Baked Taro sago looks kind of gross, but it taste very good. Sweetness level is just nice. Not too sweet.

Belated birthday treat from the bffs, Carol & Charlene. We also took this as our yearly Christmas meet-up. Didn't really have anything restaurant in mind, so we ended up at Serenity.

We ordered a Sangria De Original (Red Wine, Gin, Brandy, Orange Liquor, juices & lemonade) each. The drink is quite bland, except for the strong flavor of gin & brandy.

Since it's Christmas, we ordered the 1/4 Suckling Pig Platter ($168++) which consists of potato, greens, Turkey Breast, Ham, Stuffings & of cos, 1/4 Suckling Pig. The stuffing which is nice but a tad salty. Turkey breast & ham taste pretty normal while the Suckling Pig is great! Tender & juicy. Most importantly, the skin is very crispy.

We also ordered Amoz Negro - Black Squid Ink Paella ($68.90). The rice soaked with squid ink is very sweet. It is also full of fresh ingredients like squid, tiger prawns & mussels. Ingredients are also sweet & not over-cooked.

Staffs are also very friendly. However, it is not very pocket friendly, but I'll be back to try some of the tapas on the menu

Recommended Dish(es):  Amoz Negro - Black Squid Ink Paella

Spending per head: Approximately $100(Dinner)

Mee Rebus OK Dec 26, 2013

Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop

Bringing the nephews to Jurong Bird Park, so we decided to start our day at Toast Box.

The boys had toast while I had Mee Rebus. Both the Peanut Butter & Floss are on thick toast. The toast is crisp on the outside yet soft inside. Peanut butter is thick & flavorful; floss toast is a bit bland but the condense milk below is sweet. Mee Rebus sauce is a little bland also
