Dinner after cycling Smile Oct 03, 2013
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong

Back here for dinner after cycling with some friends. The queue was pretty long when we reach about 7.30pm & due to our big group, we waited for close to an hour to get a table!

Stew Beef noodle. noodle texture was just right & the beef is very tender. Radish on the other hard is not as soft as expected

Chives Dumpling. Pan fried to golden brown on one side while the it's moist on the other. Fresh ingredients inside are juicy

Prawn wrap in beancurd skin. Prawn inside is fresh & sweet but it's slightly oily

ice jelly with watermelon, longan & pearls.

Kid's Meal Smile Oct 03, 2013

Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato | Pasta | Steaks and Grills | Halal

Brought the nephews to Bukit Panjang Plaza playground and at the same time went shopping at Daiso. After shopping, the boys wanted to have dinner at Swensen's

Knowing that the kids could not finish their meal, sis only ordered a Clam Chowder soup in bread bowl. The bread is soft inside while the crust on the outside is crispy. Clam Chowder is thick & creamy & generous in ingredients

I had the new Spicy Seafood Pasta with grilled Scallop. Pasta is done al dente & ingredients are fresh. Scallops are also fat & juicy! However, it wasn't spicy enough

The kids had Kid's Meal which comes with a burger, some fries, a cup of corn & a cup of orange juice/ milo. The boys love the burger & they manage to finish the entire meal

Hotpot Beef spring roll?  Smile Sep 21, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Vietnamese

Another impromptu dinner date with Angela and Ivy. Since I'll be arriving late, I got the girls to find a place first while waiting for me and they decided to try out this new Vietnamese restaurant at ION B3. The girls had already placed their order when I reached. Glanced thru the menu and decided to try the Beef Hotpot.

The hotpot set consists of 5 thick & long slices of beef, some noodles & vegetables & 4 pcs of rice paper. But how to go about enjoying the hotpot? You're supposed to cook the beef in the soup; wet the rice paper with the water provided; put the cooked beef & the vegetables onto the rice paper & roll it up like a spring roll!

Soup for the hotpot is lemongrass vinegar broth. Broth is sour & it feels like drinking vinegar, but it has the refreshing taste cos of the lemongrass. Looks spicy but its not, and I actually finish the whole pot of soup! Don't quite like the raw vegetables thou.

We also ordered 3 dishes for sharing. Crispy Crepe with Prawn, Pork, Beansprout & Mushroom. I find it taste like oyster omelette but lots of beansprouts, which I really didn't expect it to be that much! Taste pretty good, but too oily

Mustard Lettuce roll with Prawns & Pork. Somehow the prawns & pork taste slightly sweet, probably due to the freshness. Sauce that was served together is very nice. Not quite sure what it is, but it sure taste slightly like sesame sauce.

Staffs here are relatively new but are all very friendly & yes, we'll be back to try other dishes on the menu soon!

Spending per head: Approximately $28(Dinner)

Desserts Cry Sep 19, 2013

Still hanging around at Orchard after brunch at Wild Honey, we went for desserts at NYDC

Emily ordered the High & mighty to share with Anthony. I took a bite of it & feels that it's not sweet. It's not very chocolaty also. Although soft, it is not as fluffy as the one I had from Au Chocolate

Southern Wings for everyone to share. Chicken is slightly over fried & a little hard

Mudpie Extravaganza - 3 different types of ice cream, but honestly, I really couldn't taste the difference. All I can taste is the chocolate sauce on the ice cream. Don't like the nuts inside also.

Staffs here also don't top up your glass of ice water when you've done with the first glass.

Secondary School Mates Meetup Smile Sep 19, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Café | Burgers and Sandwiches | Brunch

Started off the day by attending a session of Traditional Yoga @ True Yoga before meeting with few Secondary School mates for brunch at Wild Honey Scotts Square.

As it was a rainy day, I opt for Hot Chocolate. The drink was slightly bitter which I really like & it was served with a huge cube of mash-mellow which makes it creamer & sweeter

English Breakfast - scramble eggs are smooth; bacon is crispy; pork sausage nicely grilled, not too hard; potatoes, baked beans & freshly soft bread. What else can you ask for?
