yummy Char siew rice  Smile Dec 31, 2013

I like the chicken char siew rice here! I don't take pork so chicken char siew is best for me the char siew is soft and tender. The rice is chicken rice so is a tad oily but is quite nice combination. Sauce is not very sweet so goes very well together with the yummy spicy chilli overall I love it cos is hard to find chicken char siew now.

Love the fishball here so everytime when there is a party I will definitely buy this! The fishball is very springy and chewy, not too oily and is well fried. Beside fishballs they sell fishcakes, fishcake otah etc and all of them are at affordable price thumbs up is perfect for kids too smile

Thinking what to have for dinner and LC suggested to eat this Taiwanese restaurant so here we are to try out. It was pouring early on and is very windy we decided to have outside seats. The friendly staffs immediately serve us with their menu .

So 3 of us decided to have their sets which include a main, a drink and a side. So 3 of us ordered different sides to go with so we could share.

I took salted chicken noodle and sweet potato fries, Goh took their braised pork rice with pig's ear and LC took the century egg tofu. My noodle comes with minced pork and is normal kind of yellow mee which is not to my liking, sweet potato fries is cut into big slices so is very filling and is sweet not too bad. Goh commented his Lu ru rice quite tasty but he still misses the one in Gaoxiong. LC's mee sua is good too not too salty. Tofu is quite normal and pig's ear is soft and tender.

Recommended Dish(es):  Salted chicken noodle and sweet potato fries

It was Big Uncle birthday and we are being invited to have dinner this is the first time I dining here.

Although is hokkien food I still preferred Beng Hiang cos the mee was tasteless , fish not fresh and I heard Weeli says that her brother's review for their set lunch no good too. Service sucks too ..... I will not come back here for any meals in future.

Fortune chicken still not too bad chicken is tender and the sauce just nice not too salty the braise pork is a tad oily but tasteless and the dessert is too sweet for my liking!

Back to Penang Kitchen for lunch cos running out of ideas what to have. I ordered a seafood mee sua soup for lunch cos I have tried most of their main dish. Mee sua is served from a claypot and fresh prawn and fish can be found, there is crabsticks too.

Soup is very sweet and really a very homecooked style of mee sua!
