Delicious Ban Mian Smile Jun 18, 2013
Categories : Noodles

The stall is located at City Plaza food court level 5.
Offers wide variety of noodles (yu mian, ban mian, mee hoon kway, etc..)
Not only that, they do have many selections of different types of ingredients you want.
(normal, abalone clam, prawns, fish etc..)
The broth is very tasty and is served with wolfberry leaves which I don't see it in other stalls.
Don't forget about the spicy chilli that they have. Is literally fire-burning and if you could purchase the chilli over at the counter which cost about $3.00.

On top of that, you could also order some side snacks (deep fried beancurb and luncheon meat)

Hifumi is a japanese restaurant that offers eat-all-you-can appetizer bar buffet when you order any of their set meals.
In additional, you could also top-up $2.00 for free flow of drinks (soft drink, hot tea, coffee).

The set meal portion was just nice and the ingredients of food given were very generous.
From the photos below, you could actually see that the whole bento is covered with salmon & unagi.

The best part of the dinner was actually the appetizer bar buffet.
They offer wide variety and selections of food.
Each and every one of them was mouth-watering!!
You can actually be full by eating just from the appetizer bar itself.
You can never resist the temptations of the food that were served there.

Sweet Macarons Smile May 18, 2013

Categories : French | Bakery | Desserts and Cakes

This is the 1st time that I bought and ate macarons. I do not have a sweet tooth but decided to try. Too sweet for my likings but it really taste good. smile

I came across this brand from my BF who wanted to try since we never had before. The outlook of macarons looks very appealing and delicious that you will simply want to buy every single pieces to try.

The shop which is located at Ngee Ann City (level 1 & 2) looks very exquisite and elegant. One thing bad about it is the maracons on display do not have tags to show the names of it. But of cos, they do have a stand to show the different flavours of the marcaons sold there. However, I did read some reviews before going down on which are the best selling and most popular macarons. My bf and I like it alot and I will definitely go back again and try those that I have not tasted. lol

chopstick The populars and best selling maracons are:
1) Salted Caramel
2) Rose Petal
3) Vanilla
4) Pistachio
5) Strawberry Candy Mashmallow
6) Chocolate Yuzu - Highly recommend
7) Marie-Antoniette Tea - Highly recomment

But these are not the items that I have bought cause many of them are already sold out when i reach there about 7pm. Be sure to be there early before everything runs out. Before you purchase the staff will ask how many macarons you would like to purchase so I decided to take 6 in a box which cost $32.00. Then after that, they would ask you to choose the colour of the boxes that you prefer. There are black, pastel pink, pastel green and beidge, if I remember correctly.

So, I took the black box and then told them the flavours that I wanted. I did not manage to buy Marie-Antoniette, Pistachio Salted Caramel because it was all sold out. Hence, I picked the 4 remaning above (in the list I stated) and the other 2 I ask the staff to recommend and she suggested Praline & Orange Blossom.

The macarons are very sweet, and it melt right away once is in your mouth. Holding and munching a macaron that cost about SGD 5.30 per piece it has better be something really good. shocked Why is this so expensive? I heard from a friend that apparently all the maracons are air-flown from Paris and of cos, it will be alot of cheaper if you were to buy in Paris/ London.

You may check out their official website to find out more.

Japanese Lunch Set Meal OK May 17, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

Wanna to try the japanese restaurant next to Rakuzen but it was fully booked. Hence, we decided to go Rakuzen since we never tried it before. Basically the amount of food served for a set meal was generous. Below are the little reviews of the set that we had.

chopstick1) Chicken Nanban Zen $18++

We waited for about 20 minutes before the food was served. The waitress did informed us that this set meal will have to wait due to the crowds during lunch. The chicken was tender and juicy. The taste of the Nanban Sauce was not too bad - abit sour and salty. Chawanmushi was good - soft and silky. Overall: 8.5/10

chopstick2) Ten Soba Sushi Zen $20++

This set meal really worth the money that comes with sushi, cold soba, tempura & chawanmushi. Overall: 8/10

chopstick3) Yakiniku Zen with Sashimi $23++

The yakiniku (beef) was cold when it was served. This is really bad sad. However, the taste of the beef was not too bad; juicy and tender just that it was served cold. Most of the set comes with chawanmushi which I personally feels that is the best! The sashimi was fresh. Overall: 6/10

One of the best cupcakes in Singapore. If you haven't try it, please do so.
You will fall in love with the cupcakes and is just so irresistible.
Each cupcake is sold @ SGD 3.00 and they do have a lot of varieties and flavours that you can choose from.
But be sure to be there early as the popular items may be gone fast if you are too late.

Personally I do not have a sweet tooth, but this could be one that I would go for.

Come on and grab your favourite cupcakes home!

Idea for any occasions, especially birthday if you do not intend to buy a cake, this would be perfect!

Try the Red Velvet and Lychee Martin for your 1st time. You might fall in love with it.

But for this time, I had something different below. Cheers!
