Korean Food Smile Jun 05, 2013

Went to Manna Story for dinner as I was craving some Korean food!

For each set that you order, you will get 2 side dishes and they will usually try to give you different side dishes. This is good as you can get to try more variety!

The spinach is nice, but I dont like the prickled radish.

I ordered a saba fish set and a ginseng chicken soup to share with my boyfriend.

The saba fish was great, it was grilled to crisp on the edges yet still remained juicy at the middle. They also have this sweet sauce over the fish which added flavour to the taste. Yum!

The ginseng chicken soup is a little too bitter for my taste, but I like that it's authentic with glutinous rice inside in the chicken. The glutinous have sucked up the essence of the chicken & is really delicious!

Would definitely come back again!

Tom Yum Fried Rice Smile Jun 05, 2013

Decided to try out the Tom Yum Fried Rice from this stall at Food Opera as I have not seen many places selling Tom Yum Fried Rice & was interested to see how it taste like.

Serving time took relatively long but it might be because it was lunch time.

The fried rice came hot and the portion was quite big. At $6.90, I would say it's quite worth.

The Fried rice actually tasted just like Tom Yum, was quite spicy and a little sour. Seafood in it were really fresh. It was a good meal.

Salt Egg Pork with Rice Smile Jun 05, 2013

Categories : Singaporean Chinese

Went to New Station Snack Bar today with my colleagues and I order the popular Salted Egg Pork with rice.

The place is crowded at lunch but we managed to get a seat and our meal rather quickly as there is a staff helping to allocate seats on first come first serve basis and take our orders before we are seated.

Sauce is really creamy with abit of spiciness. Super nice when paired with the fried pork! Although I suspect anything with the sauce would be nice. smile

Sichuan Cold Noodles Smile Jun 05, 2013

Let's Toss is a Sichuan Salad Bar style stall and it's becoming 1 of my favourite place to eat!

The place is clean and there's a small counter (approximately seating space for 6 pax) in the shop where you can dine in.

They sell vegetables and meat by weight. You can choose as many selection as you want, and they will portion it according to the weight you order.. Default is 200g for $5.

For me, I like to have their cold noodles set. $5 for cold noodles, 30g of meat and a cup of ice lemon tea.

For the cold noodles, they will mix spaghetti like noodles with cucumber, beansprout, peanuts, chili and some condiments with the meat you choose.. tossing them together in a metal bowl before serving to you in a cardboard box.

Portion is usually quite big and filling. Especially love the crunchiness of the cucumber and beansprouts with the tangy noodles!

This place makes me come back again & again even though the location is not very convenient for me. (at Aljunied MRT station) Definitely recommended to everyone!

Ramen & Sticky Rice Set OK May 30, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Ramen

Visited this restaurant for lunch and decided to have the Half Ramen and Half sticky rice set, thinking that this would be a good chance to try several items on the menu all at one time.

The food came rather quickly, but unfortunately only the ramen was somewhat hot and only the ramen and salad is nice.

The Teriyaki chicken was cold and a little hard, while the rice is cold and rather bland. The ramen was only half portion for the lunch set btw. So I think it would have been a better meal if I just ordered a full ramen for about the same price.

Nevertheless, the ramen was really good. The noodles are chewy and the soup is full of flavour.

I would probably recommend just the ramen and not the rest of the items I had in my set.
