Sushi expressed OK Oct 06, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

Newly opened shop at 313. Offer wide range of sushi ranging at price of 1.70 per plate. A very economical priced sushi. The sushi is pretty fresh but sadly It is a boo for me as I still prefer the tradditional one. The customer can gets to sit in front of the sushi belt and choose the sushi  from the moving belt itself.

The location is at the right corner of basement 3 which is not very hard to find. With their low priced sushi. It is usually packed with a lot of ppl during lunch.

Total spend for five places of sushi is 15 bucks! Cheap!

Spending per head: Approximately $15(Lunch)

Dim sum on a sunny Sunday OK Oct 06, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Taiwanese | Chinese | Restaurant | Dim Sum

Famous for their crab meat xiao long bao, yam paste xiao long bao. A place to dine for all meals with family and friends. Personally I love din tai fung food especially their xiao long bao irregardless sweet or salty type. Their fried rice is something that I would "die" for.

The food on average is about 12 bucks for main course. A xiao long bao is abt 6.8 for 6 pieces. Their xiao long bao is rich with soup. The meat is very tender and not dry. Thumbs up for their xiao long bao always!

Another must try is their mango pudding. Super generous with fresh mangoes. Not too sweet and is healthy for all old and young!! Love it!

Located at a corner of 313 sommerset basement 3. The first ramen restaurant that sits in 313 ramen. Offering various type of ramens ranging from cha shu ramen to stone pot rice. The price range from average of 15 bucks per bowl of ramen and 12 bucks for stone pot rice

They also offer other side dishes too. Today shall challenge their vege ramen. Topped with lots of vege. The ramen is a very healthy dish with a slice of cha shu. Not too fatty for my liking. The noodles is very q and yummy. Not bad for a new taste!

Bangkok jammed OK Sep 16, 2013

Categories : Thai | Restaurant | Steaks and Grills | Kids-Friendly

This is actually the second time i got “jammed” at Bangkok jam. Pretty fascinated with what they serve on their menu and their dishes presentation. especially their funky use of cutleries (bowls in weird funky shape). Food wise, i would say is pretty good. of cos there are some wows and some boos for me.

Thai Fish cakes @ $9.50. Not very strong in the coconut milk taste, not very spicy for me too. but i find they are pretty stingy with their thai chilli sauce. of cos, if i request for more, they probably will give me more.

stirred fry minced chicken with basil @ 11.90 bucks. this dish gives me major wow. the chicken meat is very soft and for the start, i thought it is pork haha

Green curry chicken @ 12 bucks. this gives me a boo. i dont quite like their green curry chicken. lack of the coconut milk taste i feel although the chicken is pretty tender and soft

fish maw soup @ 9.90 bucks. i quite like this soup but i think there are alot of MSG inside so it is pretty artificial taste to me. haha. but overall, the chef is pretty generous with the fish maw.

Seafood in clear tom yum. dont really find it special but taste pretty ok to me.

kailan with salted fish @ 10.50 bucks. it is pretty weird as this dish cost more than my fish maw soup haha. i give this dish a super wow too. not too over with the salted fish.

overall the food is pretty expensive i feel. we spend 73.80 bucks for 6 dish and out of it, the most expensive dish is actually the green curry chicken which is the louder boo for me. however, the rest of the dishes are pretty good. =)

Yum Cha in Hong Kong Style OK Sep 11, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Restaurant | Dim Sum

like many others, i am a crazy fan of dim sum and the best dim sum i ever had are those that i had in Hong kong. and here, i cant find any that match that standard so far lolx. however to curb my cravings, anything is good ya? Hong xin, the famous dim sum restaurant. the place where they serve dim sum like typical Hong kong style. waitress will push dim sum carts around and u just pick your choice.

very hong kong feel. hiaz. the food is so so only. not as nice as before. =(. and i feel the price is slightly steep too.

Steam pork ribs i feel is the best among that i tried other than my fav char siew bao. not too fat the meat and too oily

Chee cheong fun, i find the skin abit too "rough". maybe they din use finer rice flour?

xiao long bao..no soup inside...sad. taste more like wrap siew mai

char siew bao..my fav. consider "meet" my expectation as the skin is pretty soft and it is stuffed with alot of char siew

chicken feet..not too bad.

overall
Food : **1/2
Customer service : ** ( some times i need to "chase" the trolley ladies . i flag them many times and they couldnt see me. =()
Price : **** ( i find the price is slightly steep)
Will i come again : sadly. maybe to try if there are any improvement
