Lemon Tarte is good Smile Oct 31, 2013
Categories : French | Bakery | Brunch

Well, i rather take sweet pastry as i am not really a sweet tooth person ( i do eat them but i can live without them). This bakery cafe actually is just a block away from my office =). Happen that i was on half day and so i decided to buy some back for tea break with my mum in the evening on Fri.

I did not order their sandwiches but two of the pastries. Cinnamon Bread and their lemon tart. Of cos, these 2 cannot make a good review for this cafe la but just want to share some of my Wooo and Booo haha. Personally, i love their lemon tart. The filling is really smooth. The crust is very soft. Overall i give it a Wooo.

i give a little boo for the Cinnamon bread cos i feel like it taste more like croissant than bread. and it is a little hard for my preference. However, it is still quite nice la.

Shabu good times Smile Oct 27, 2013
Categories : Japanese

The most expensive Shabu i had so far but is so gd that is worth every single cent! Located at Takashimaya level 4. We were captivated by the yummy pictures of shabu and here we go lol. we managed to get a seat despite the restaurant is about 70% packed.

on their menu, they offered sushi and bento sets. and they also offer sukiyaki and nanbe set. For our case, we decided on their most expensive shabu set lol. for this set, we were given their premium beef and it comes with vege, desert too. at the end of the shabu, they will use the stock from the shabu to cook porridge which is really good. enough said, let the pictures do the talking

the sauce for shabu and is really good. i love the sesame sauce!

the fresh vege that comes with it.

the beef! you can see the fats that is evenly spread. the beef is super tender and thinly sliced. it taste heavenly! i love it

after shabu, they use the soup to cook porridge and is really good!

ending the day with desert!

Dinner @ Whole Earth OK Oct 11, 2013
Categories : Thai | Peranakan / Nonya | Restaurant | Vegetarian

for more food pictures and detailed review, please go to http://princessmic80.blogspot.sg/2013/10/of-whole-earth-peranakan-vegetarian-food.html

Whole Earth restaurant started since 2003 that offers another alternatives to normal vegetarian food ~ Thai Peranakan cuisine. The restaurant has also gain its reputation for many winning awards too! Located at Peak Seah street, the restaurant is a 1 level restaurant and is usually packed with alot of customers. So if you do want to dine at Whole Earth, do remember to make your reservations to avoid disappointment.

The variety of food actually surprise me as they do offer more variety than some of the zi char vegetarian restaurant. Food taste wise, there are some dishes that wow me and some that give me a boo. The price is consider pretty steep. Each dish is approx 10 over bucks for small size.

Here are some of the food we had that night

Fried Mee Sua (7 bucks)- I find this dish is pretty good for vegetarian style of cooking. The mee sua is not too soggy nor it is very hard. it doesnt really taste vegetarian to me

Double boiled nourishing soup - 28 (S) / 55 (M). i guess this is the most expensive dish of the night. We ordered a small one to share which is slightly just nice for 4 of us. The soup is pretty much "herbal" taste with bamboo shoots in it. The taste wise is ok for me. nothing much to wow about and neither to boo about. OK only

Oatmeal tofu with curry leaves (15 bucks). i love this. especially the oatmeal. The toufu is pretty crispy but soft on the inside.

broccoli with braised monkeyhead mushroom (19 bucks). For those who love monkeyhead mushroom will love it and vice versa. For me, i am a fan of mushrooms so i love the taste of monkeyhead mushroom. but sadly this dish doesnt give me a WOW. is just a normal stirred fried except with premium ingredients

nonya curry (18 bucks) . this one gives me a boo. the curry powder is too much and too dry for my liking.

here, you can choose unpolished rice or white rice to go with your meals! for those who are very health conscious, you can opt for unpolished rice!

Overall
Food wise : ** ( Ok only)
Price : ****
Customer service : * ( slow in serving customers and attending to customers. i seen they are quite rude to the guest at another table)

Will i come again? Sorry. dont think so

A newly opened Japanese restaurant that is located at Jurong Country Club, offering a dinner dining experience for customers. With super friendly chef and staff, it gives you a warm dining experience there. By the way, the place is also opened to public so you can bring your family and friends here for a wonderful dining experience!

they also have private dining rooms for you too!

The food is pretty good and the price is reasonable for what you eat! especially their sashimi, they are air flown from Hokkaido! very fresh!

Overall, will i come again? Yes!

so now lets checkout whats on their menu!

Zensai ($10.80) – Seafood Mayo on Fresh Salad

the salad is very crunchy especially the seaweed. it gives you the "sea" taste for each mouthful bite of it. the mayo is very nice but slightly salty. But overall, this dish is very refreshing.

next we had Dobin Mushi ($10.80) – Teapot Soup

the soup is very sweet and fresh. this is my first time trying this dish actually. one word to describe this, superb! i love it.

next we had Sashimi: Fukuya Tokusen Platter (7 kinds) ($68.80) – Toro, Uni, Botan Ebi, Salmon Belly, Katsuo Tataki, Shima Aji, Tai

omg. this is heaven! the sashimi is super fresh and i love it! with flower petals sprinkle on the sashimi, the dish not only look delicious, it is also super good too!

next Yakimono: Gintara Mentaiyaki ($20.80)

grill cod fish with mentaiyaki! the rich mentaiyaki is super rich and creamy. After it is grilled, it gives a crispy and it enhance the taste of the grill cod fish too! the cod fish is extremely fresh too!

next we had Sushi: Fukuya Aburi Sushi Mori (5 kinds) ($28.80) – Salmon, Anago, Akami, Buri Belly + Unkan Uni & Ikura Topping

this is also one of my fav dish of the night. the wasabi is very light and not "over" so it doesn't cover the freshness of the sushi taste. the slightly grilled sushi is very well done for it still maintain the "raw" when it is in the semi cooked state so it doesnt lose the "fresh" taste

Menrui ($26.80) – Fukuya Seafood Ramen (Small)

the broth is specially created by Chef Ming. It is a combination of Japanese and western soup. at first i thought it is a lobster soup but actually it is more of vege base soup lol. the ramen is topped with lots of seafood like prawn and scallop.

last but not list, the "da boom" of the night will go to Kyoho Ice Cream (Japanese Grape Flavour) with Kuri Kanronni (Boiled Chestnut) ($8.80)

never to be missed! their ice cream desert is sooo good that my stomach actually make more space for it..i finish it lo! lol

so what are you waiting for? head down to Jurong Country Club now and try out Fukuya now!

Irish food for the day OK Oct 06, 2013
Categories : Irish | Bars/Lounges | Restaurant

A irsh restaurant that is al-fesco dinning serving alcohol beverages for happy hour. They also do serve main courses and deserts too! As the place is located just outside 313, although fixed with a big fan but it still gets pretty warm on the afternoon but guess it is quite ok for night. With the classic 80s music background, it gives me the feeling to chill out even on a Sunday afternoon.  This restaurant serve pretty wide variety of food choices as compared to usual ones that serve only finger food.

So we tried their beer battered prawns and chips for the main course. 19.90 bucks which considered quite reasonable at a irsh restaurant
The prawn battered can taste the beer bitterness. M nt really a fan of it. But the prawn is pretty fresh

For desert we opt for apple pie. The pie cost abt 4.90 per dish. The apple pie is a little sour for me. But overall is quite nice. Yum. Thumbs up for apple pie
