Kway Chap

Kway Chap

Tried this Kway Chap set meal at one of the stalls at Orchard Cineleisure Koufu since Kway Chap is my all time favourite.

There were half an egg, few pieces of dou gan, porks, pig skins and few slices of fish cake on a small red plate. Although the servings are not a lot but they tasted pretty delicious and not too salty. The only thing I dislike about the Kway Chap was the amount of pig skins the stall owner gave since I'm not a pig skins lover.

There wasn't much people over there when I was having my lunch over there on a weekday afternoon, hence, finding seats over there weren't of much difficulties.

The Kway Chap set meal costed $4.50 and was actually much more affordable than other dining outlets in Orchard and Somerset areas.

Boston Clam Chowder & Velvety Mushroom Stroganoff

Boston Clam Chowder & Velvety Mushroom Stroganoff

Ordered Boston Clam Chowder and Velvety Mushroom Stroganoff at The Soup Spoon and the restaurant is one of the few restaurants in Singapore that has specialty in soups.

For the Boston Clam Chowder, there were celeries and potatoes on the top of the soup, making it more appealing and appetizing. The soup had plenty of chunky clams that were chewy and they went well with the crunchy celeries and the soft potatoes.

For Velvety Mushroom Stroganoff, the mushrooms in it were smooth and fresh. The tantalizing aroma of the mushrooms are pleasant and unforgettable.

The soups were pretty affordable as well, they were $5.60 to $6.90 for Regular and $6.80 to $8.20 for Grande.

The environment there was pretty noisy and I could see shoppers outside the restaurant easily.

Ribeye Steak with Brown sauce OK Jul 14, 2013

Ribeye Steak with Brown Sauce

Ribeye Steak with Brown Sauce

The brown sauce on top of the Ribeye Steak really enhance the taste and texture of the steak. I ordered a medium rare Ribeye Steak so that the meat will not be too hard and unbreakable. The colour of the meat was close to either red or hot pink. The meat was tender, soft and fresh.

This dish costed about $36 excluding GST and service charge which I think was pretty pricey.

The ambience of the place was pretty alright although the environment was not comparable to those high end restaurants.

Spending per head: Approximately $42(Dinner)

Pork Katsu Curry Rice

Pork Katsu Curry Rice

Ordered this Pork Katsu Curry Rice at Coco Ichibanya as there was a "Must Try" sentence stated on the menu. The restaurant was most popular for the curry and almost all of the dishes come with curry.

The fried pork cutlet tasted crispy and crunchy on the exterior before it was mixed with the curry. Although the crispiness was gone after in contact with the curry, the overwhelming taste of the curry did blend in well with the fried pork cutlet.

The curry was good as the spice was enough and fragrant. It went well with the rice and the fried pork cutlet.

The dish costs about $12 excluding GST and service charge which I think is pretty affordable for working adults.

Swicy Chicken  OK Jul 14, 2013

Swicy Chicken

Swicy Chicken

Ordered this Swicy Chicken at NeNe Chicken and it was quite hot and spicy. The chicken was tender and soft underneath the hot and spicy outer layer of the chicken. However, the taste was quite ordinary just like normal chicken.

Ne Ne Chicken, which was quite popular in Korea, offered different preparation styles of chicken including fried, grilled or baked. There were a variety of side dishes as well.

The side dish that I have ordered was French Fries. Although they were oily and unhealthy but they tasted really good as they were tasty and crispy. They are located on the bottom left of the photo.

The dish costs about $10 which I think is not very worth it.

Spending per head: Approximately $10
