Fish and Chips

Fish and Chips

Ordered this Fish and Chips at a promotional price of $4.30 at The Manhattan Fish Market and I had to wait for about one hour after payment before I can take away the food. The price was pretty affordable in comparison to the usual price of the food.

The fries given were few and insufficient for a fries lover like me, however, I won't complain about that considering the price of this Fish and Chips. The size of the Fish was acceptable although it was pretty oily. The outer layer of the fish was only slightly crispy, it will turn soggy pretty quickly under air conditioned areas. The meat was tender, however, it was pretty dry even after dipping with sauces.

Overall it's still worth buying as the taste of the food worth the price of it.

Paiku Ramen Smile Jul 28, 2013

Paiku Ramen

Paiku Ramen

Ice Lemon Tea

Ice Lemon Tea

Ordered this Paiku Ramen Set Meal as the Paiku Ramen is a chef recommended dish. It comes with a Paiku Ramen, a drink and one side dish at $14.90 excluding GST and service charge. The total cost will be around $17.50 after the inclusive of the additional charges.

The Paiku Ramen Soup had a pleasant aroma and it was filled with the sweetness of the coconut milk. The soup has made the soft and tender Ramen more tasty and smooth as well. However, there were not much visible porks on the pork ribs and the visible porks were pretty dry although they were well marinated.

For the drink, I have chosen Ice Lemon Tea over Green Tea despite it was refillable. For the side dish, I have chosen fried chicken cutlet and I'm glad that it was not a wrong decision. The chicken cutlet was very crispy although it was very oily as well. The meat was soft and tender, it went well with the sweet sauce given.

The ambience of the restaurant was pretty good due to the dimmed lighting. However, I caught some of the staffs chit chatting while working.

Fiery Chicken

Ordered this Fiery Chicken Set Meal at this newly opened restaurant (Astons) at *SCAPE at a promotional price of $9.90 nett. This set meal comes with a Soup of the Day which is Mushroom Soup and 2 sides. There are different varieties of cold sides and hot sides to choose from and I have chosen Mashed Potato and Mac & Cheese.

The grilled Fiery Chicken was slightly spicy and the meat was very soft and tender. The Mushroom soup was fragrant and the small pieces of mushroom in it were soft, slightly chewy and slippery. The soup went well with the garlic bread besides it. The portion of the Mashed Potato and Mac & Cheese were alright and sufficient. Although both of the side dishes look normal but they tasted pretty good too.

The ambience of the place was good with dimmed lighting. The service of the restaurant was pretty good as well since I only waited for a short while before the food was on our table.

Macarons Smile Jul 22, 2013

Macarons

Macarons

Ordered Pistachio (green), Caramel (orange-yellow) and Chocolate (brown) flavours of Macarons at Butter Studio and they were comparable to other Macarons from other stores.

Among the 3 different flavours of Macaron, my favourite one will be the Pistachio Macaron. Not only the colour of Pistachio Macaron is bright and vibrant, the taste is special as well and I'm into the taste after trying it for the first time. The outer layer of the Macaron was really crunchy and it went well with the soft, rich and smooth filling in the centre.

Although the Macarons were tasty but they were pretty pricey as well since 6 pieces of Macaron cost about $11.

Big Breakfast

Big Breakfast

Ordered Big Breakfast at McDonald's in the early morning and it was a great start of the day to have such yummy and scrumptious breakfast.

The pancakes were slightly bland with a very mild taste of saltiness and sweetness in them. The taste of the pancakes was further enhance when eating together with the honey and margarine. The softness and slightly chewiness of the pancakes went well with the very crispy and crunchy hash brown.

The Big Breakfast is pretty affordable since it costs less than $10. However, it's definitely more pricey than most food in hawker centres as well as in food courts.
