Emoticon Pies! OK Dec 11, 2014
Categories : Australian / New Zealand | Bakery

I had to visit Pie Face bakery after seeing online pictures of these cute little emoticons craft on each pie!

I was eager to try the Thai Chicken Curry pie as I expected a spicy kind of kick out of it but it turned out disappointingly bland tasting. The Chunk Steak was one of the popular pies but it also turned out so-so. Out of the 3, Chicken Mushroom is surprisingly the best! It was filled with chunks of thick creamy chicken combined with mushrooms and garlic tongue

I may give their sweet pies a try next time!

Family fav! OK Mar 26, 2014

As far as I can recall, my parents have been buying the curry chicken from this stall ever since I was in my late primary school days! Over the years, the curry has been very consistent in its standard but the chicken is smaller nowadays. I find their curry spicier and more thicker than other places. My family usually buy the baguettes from Delifrance to go along with it! I really love soaking my bread in the curry (nevermind the tears) and when there's not enough, I will even dip the normal white bread at home, too shiok! tongue

'Chao ta' burger! OK Mar 26, 2014

I have always been fascinated with the 'black-coloured' kind of buns/burgers and especially love it if its squid-ink flavoured too! Burger King have recently launch this new 'Charcoal Bamboo Burger' which you can choose the filling to be either the beef patty with turkey bacon or the teriyaki chicken.

I chose the beef with bacon and look at the size of the patty compared to the burger! It is really whopper sized as stated in the commercial! Anyway, the burger bun tasted like the other burgers, not even a slightest tinge of bamboo or charcoal flavour. The burger itself cost $5.95 while the meal is an additional $2.

Simple Lor Mee OK Mar 23, 2014
Categories : Food Court | Noodles

I usually eat lor mee at hawker stalls and this is my first time trying one from a food court! I love my 'lor' to be thick, dark and super starchy but the one from this stall is miles apart from that description. The gravy is too light and I had to add in lots of garlic and vinegar to enhance the taste! The ingredients are quite little too. However, I guess I can't complain as it's priced at $2.50 at an air-conditioned food court.

Thai Milktea in a Bottle! OK Mar 23, 2014

Thai milktea is one of my favourite drinks and I would go crazy over them whenever I visit Bangkok! I chance upon this cafe when I was walking towards Bugis Junction and their drinks menu can be seen from outside the glass door. As I kept checking out the board, my craving for the milk tea just spark instantly! I went in and ordered that but the staff said there is no 'normal' milk tea and they only had the black or green. I bought the black milktea as I just assumed that was the original orange-coloured milk tea but it turned out to be a miscommunication! No wonder I was disappointed by the bland taste of the milk tea at first. There is a level of authenticity in this bottled black milktea as I could taste the tea leaves but the sweetness level is too low for me. I would definitely go back and try their original Thai milktea!

Recommended Dish(es):  Black Milktea $2.50
