Redbean filling

Redbean filling

The yuotiaos I had previously attracted me back to the stall and I bought more snacks from them to try! I like hum ji peng, both sweet and salty, and the ones here are flavourful and slightly crispy! The yuotiaos are nice just that it is not consistent with the amount of oil, as at times it could be really oily and not as nice anymore.

I also like butterfly buns and it belongs to the 'sweeter' range of chinese fried snacks. The ones here are crispy with the right amount of sweetness!

This is my first time trying the sweet '3-in-1' yam cake which consist of a sweet redbean filling sandwiched between two layers of yam. I like the redbean filling but not the yam.
This stall sells mainly chinese snacks and there is a wide range of them!

Recommended Dish(es):  Hum Ji Peng Salty $0.80,Butterfly Bun $0.80,You tiao $0.70 Salted Hum Ji Peng $0.80,Hum Ji Peng Sweet $0.80

Crispy Chicken! Smile Mar 23, 2014

My friend recommended me to try this fast-food fried chicken outlet and I bought their best-seller, the 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken 6pc set, which includes the wings/drumettes, fries and a drink! You get to choose which sauce you want, which includes soy garlic, hot or mixed. As it was my first time, I chose the mixed flavour.
I had to slowly tear the chicken apart initially as it was piping hot! I love the mixed sauce coating on my fried chicken and the chicken meat is moist and not dry at all! There are two flavours for the fries, seaweed or kimchi. I chose the former which was so addictive!

Perfect bowl of Hot peppery soup Smile Mar 22, 2014

Chef's Special, Peppery Chicken Hotpot

Chef's Special, Peppery Chicken Hotpot

Soup Spoon is always the first few to pop up in my head whenever I have a soup craving! I've tried most of their soups and my favourite so far is the Simon Garfunkel Chicken Mushroom Ragout, which is a rich and creamy based soup with generous servings of chicken chunks and 6 types of mushrooms!
Anyway, they have a Chef's Special menu which changes every month and I decided to try the Peppery Chicken Hotpot, which they indicated that it's spicy but I just find that the black pepper was a little too overpowering. However, it was perfect for that cold night smile
I love Soup Spoon for their every changing menu and promotions!

Dumpling Noodles, $3

Dumpling Noodles, $3

As the round market is within walking distance from my house, I have eaten at this popular stall a couple of times already and would never get sick of it as their menu is pretty extensive! They are famous for their sarawak kolo mee, which every first timer here have to try! However, my favourite from this stall is their dumplings! Each dumpling is so crunchy and generously filled, and you can choose to have them in soup or with noodles! smile

Excellent Coffee! Smile Mar 21, 2014

Upon stepping into this little coffee joint, I was instantly greeted by their friendly staff. The lady recommended me the 3oz for stronger coffee, 5oz for a normal balance of coffee and milk and 7oz if I like a very mild coffee. Their prices are also very friendly with the 7oz at only $4!

White 5oz, $3.80

Certainly one of the loveliest coffee art around! I like that there wasn't any acidic taste and having such a good cuppa just instantly lifts me up smile This place operates more like a takeaway system as there were only a couple of seats and a sharing table in the middle where you can rest your coffee cup and have a chat with your friends. Although this coffee joint may be a little difficult to locate, as it is hidden under a HDB block, it is worth making a trip down!
