It's my best friend's birthday and I treated her to brunch at the Riders' cafe, which is situated at Bukit Timah Saddle Club amidst the lush greenery. We sat indoors as there wasn't any available seats at the balcony area. Anyway, the weather that day was bright and sunny and we manage to see a horse!

My friend had the Cream Corn Polenta, which consist of poached eggs, tomatoes, portobello and sourdough bread. I chose the Pacific Benedict as I don't see it anywhere else! It consist of swimmer crabs, poached eggs, spinach and shrimp hollandaise on sourdough bread.
Pacific Benedict!

Pacific Benedict!

The poached eggs are done perfectly and the generous serving of swimmer crabs were so meaty and yummy! Definitely a refreshing change from the usual bacon or salmon egg benedict smile

The coffee here is good as well and we had a latte and cappuccino. I will definitely want to come back here again for the ambiance and their other items in the menu!

Curry Chicken Rice Youtiao Drink, $5.90

I like the you tiao here as they come in a few flavours like black sesame, almond etc. besides the original plain ones! This is my first time trying the curry chicken, and I got the combo set which consist of the curry chicken, rice with vegetables and egg, youtiao and a drink! The curry is thick, the chicken is tender and there were three huge potatoes! I chose lime juice and black sesame youtiao! All these for only $5.90!! So worth it! lol

Banana Caramel Chocolate Bun, $1.80

Banana Caramel Chocolate Bun, $1.80

As I ended school earlier today, I made a trip down to my favourite bakery shop! I had a cup of their own UCC coffee blend and a Banana Caramel Chocolate bun. I tried their Green Tea Anpan bun and Yam bun previously and both were good! Both buns were so generously filled and likewise for this bun, it is also stuffed with banana and chocolate! tongue
Black Sesame Yam Bun, $1.60

Sweet Potato Walnut Bun, $1.50

Sweet Potato Walnut Bun, $1.50

I took away some buns for breakfast the next day which still tasted yummy! I got the Black Sesame Yam and Sweet Potato Walnut bun for myself and the Black Sesame Anpan and Cranberry Cream Cheese buns for my mom! She liked the black sesame anpan but commented the cranberry cream cheese was just average though. Anyway, I prefer the plain yam bun as I guess I don't appreciate the black sesame taste. The sweet potato walnut bun is yummy! How I wish this bakery is near my house!

For my mom's birthday this year, my brother suggested going to J's restuarant near Bugis area after hearing good reviews from his friends.
Scrambled Eggs With Salmon, $19

Scrambled Eggs With Salmon, $19

We started off with 2 starters. The first one is the Scrambled eggs with Salmon which came in threes and the smoked salmon and eggs were served on top the crispy tortillas. Awesome combination!
Poppers, $16

Poppers, $16

The second starter are the Poppers, which are breaded “Jalapeno” peppers stuffed with mozzarella. It was crispy but a little spicy for me.
Quesadillas (Chicken/Beef), $20/$22

Quesadillas (Chicken/Beef), $20/$22

There are two types of Quesadillas, the beef and chicken. We ordered both to try. It is basically a tortilla filled with chicken breast/minced beef, cheese, onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapeno & guacamole. The one shown is the beef version.
“Adobo” Chicken, $28

“Adobo” Chicken, $28

They describe the "Adobo" chicken as a braised chicken cooked “Adobo”, meaning that the raw chicken is immersed in a stock composed variously of paprika, oregano, salt, garlic, and vinegar to preserve and enhance its flavor. It was served together with warm tortillas and the chicken was so juicy and tender. Totally yummy to have it eaten wrapped in the tortillas!
Sirloin of Beef, $35

Sirloin of Beef, $35

The beef sirloin was tender and it was served together with cabbage & leeks fricassee & saffron rice puree.
Braised Lamb Shank, $32

Braised Lamb Shank, $32

The braised lamb shanks were huge! Heirloom vegetables & potato colcannon were served alongside.
Churros with Bananas & Mangoes, $10

Churros with Bananas & Mangoes, $10

Bread & Butter Pudding, $10

Bread & Butter Pudding, $10

For desserts, we heard the Bread & Butter Pudding and Churros with Bananas & Mangoes were the best ones here and so we ordered both. Between the two, I prefer the Churros! It was layered with salted caramel bananas, fresh mangoes & coconut infused mascarpone sabayon, so so good! The bread & butter pudding consist of a baked brioche with milk, eggs, white chocolate, walnut & peaches served with vanilla gelato. It was also yummy! The food here are quite expensive but totally worth it! lol

Kopi O & Kopi

Kopi O & Kopi

Nothing beats a good cup of Kopi in the morning! smile Most of the time I takeaway the kopi from this stall but today, my mom and I wanted to have breakfast at the round market. This is a better picture of the kopi than the previous review! We had the Kopi and Kopi O, and it is really worth the wait! Besides kopi, the uncle also makes teh, milo, horlicks etc. I tried the teh before and it is not bad. Oh, there is even a Milo C/Milo O/Horlicks Kosong etc!
