Awesome ramen! :P Smile Mar 21, 2014

I love ramen and Ramen Keisuke Tori King has always been on my list to try! There are also two other Keisuke shops, Keisuke Tonkotsu King Four Seasons at Bugis Village and Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King at Tanjang Pagar.
It was around 7pm when my friend and I reach the place and I was surprised that there wasn't any queue!
Free flow of Eggs & Beansprouts!

While waiting for our ramen to come, we had to grind the sesame seeds in a bowl, which is added to our soup later on. They also offer free flow hard boiled eggs and bean sprouts!
Greentea Cola! $3.80 each

Greentea Cola! $3.80 each

Being a fan of green tea/matcha, I had to satisfy my curiousity of the green tea cola! Well, it turned out tasting like cola mixed with some other soda and there was no greentea taste at all! :/
Original w All Toppings, $15.90

What sets Tori King different from the other ramen restaurants is that they use chicken broth instead of pork, and I was so excited when our ramen finally came! As it was my first time, I had the Original Tori King Ramen Special with All Toppings, which comes with a slice of chashu, tamago, seaweed and the huge chicken thigh drumstick! The chicken drumstick is the main highlight and it is just toooo good! It is so tender that the meat comes off so easily from the bone! I can literally have another one now!

Fish n Chips

Fish n Chips

It's been a really long time since I last had fish and chips from long john silvers! It used to be one of my favourite fast food meal during my secondary school days! I guess part of the reason was because it's value for money, with a combo set (2 fish, fries and drink) for less than $5! Also, it is tasty and I love the crunchy bits of fried fish!

Mini Chocolate Roll, Bretzel w Salt, Palmier Vanilla Chocolate

Mini Chocolate Roll, Bretzel w Salt, Palmier Vanilla Chocolate

Swissbake outlets are all over Singapore and I would sometimes drop by to takeaway some of their pastries!
The Bretzel with Salt ($1.60) is basically pretzel made of bread! This is my first time trying such a creation and honestly, I find this combination tasted kind of weird. It is like the very chewy version of pretzels and I shall stick to having the original pretzel or bread next time!
I love both the Mini Chocolate Roll & Palmier Vanilla Chocolate ($1.10 each)! Both are filled generously with chocolate except that the palmier has an extra filling of custard, yum yum! tongue

Modern kopi stall OK Mar 16, 2014

I am a fan of traditional coffee and toast and one of my favourite food bloggers recommended the kaya toast and coffee from this stall! I finally had the opportunity to check it out as I was around the area.
Set B, $3 & Set C, $3.30

Set B, $3 & Set C, $3.30

We ordered Set B and C. Set B comprise of 2 Toasted Kaya Butter bread and a choice of Coffee or Tea. Set C comprise of 2 Baguette French Toast and a choice of Coffee or Tea. We had the Kopi C, which was a little on the bitter side.

The kaya was not bad but didn't had the 'wow' factor to it.
Kopi, $1.20

Kopi, $1.20

As we were unsatisfied with our coffee, we ordered their Kopi, which tasted better but still, really nothing special about it.

French-Jap cafe Smile Mar 16, 2014

We were told that our food would only arrive 20 minutes later. Lucky we were not too hungry and it was okay for our stomachs to wait! I like the decor of this cafe, which had some sort of a casual and old school vibe to it.
Miam Miam Spaghetti, $15.80

Miam Miam Spaghetti, $15.80

One of the signatures here is Miam Miam Capellini, which is sauteed with frankfurters, tomatoes, baby spinach, eggplant, bacon and a soft boiled egg in the middle! The portion is just nice and the whole dish was tossed with french toast, their secret broth and shoyu. The mixture of the eggs throughout the dish further enhance the taste!
Riz Noir, $16.50

Squid-ink Rice

Squid-ink Rice

I am always intrigued by a Squid-ink based dish and ordered their Riz Noir, which is the french name for Squid-ink rice. Riz Noir consist of an omu egg on top of the squid-ink rice and an assortment of prawns and squids. I was actually taken aback by the portion size when it was served. I expected it to be much bigger! Anyway, the omelette looks fluffy but the taste was just soso. However, the squid ink rice is good! I like that it wasn't too strong, just nice!
I would love to come back here again for their souffles and drinks!
