One thing I like at crystal jade bakery is the ma Lai Goh. The pastry is actually a sponge cake that is steamed and slightly flavored with brown sugar to give it the brown appearance. The cake is fluffy moist and especially good eaten on the spot when it is freshly steamed and warm. A very simple snack but it is done well, and satisfies my craving for ma Lai Goh.

The desserts here are very good. I ordered nata de coco and Longan dessert which was very refreshing. The ice here is very fine and smooth and melts smoothly in your mouth. The syrup concoction used is flavourful and has some complexity to it. Overall a very refreshing and delicious dessert just sweet enough and with lots of chunks of longans and nata de coco for contrast in texture and taste.

The Portuguese egg Tarts are not bad. A nice change from regular egg tarts, these have a slightly more interesting flavour being slightly richer and more dairy like. The pastry is nice and flaky, maintaining its crisp and buttery flavour for quite awhile after purchasing. Even the next day, when heated up in a toaster oven, the egg tarts still taste very fresh and yummy. A good choice for a snack or breakfast

Udders for ice cream and waffles again! They have one of the best waffles in Singapore in my opinion. The waffles are freshly made to order so they arrive warm and toasty, crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, complementing the cool ice cream very well. Popeyes chicken has very good chicken! I would say its one of the best out of all the fried chicken chains. The biscuit is really special, flaky buttery soft moist and savory all at once. Eaten with jam, butter or even just on its own, it's a real treat! The chicken is great too, juicy and crisp on the outside while maintaining a moist interior! A really good choice for fried chicken and biscuits!
