Ichiban has lots of good Japanese food. It's my families favorite place for comfort Japanese food at reasonable prices. One dish we enjoyed was the chicken karage. Te chicken pieces were so juicy and moist even though they had been fried to a crisp. Each piece was just the right size so that the ratio of crunch to soft chicken is just right. Slightly fatty the chicken pieces had good flavour. A must try!

Udders has alot if interesting local flavours and really good waffles. The waffles are freshly made an and crisp on the outside whole still being soft and tender on the interior. The hot waffles with the cold ice cream Is just fantastic. On their own the ice cream is ok but not spectacular in my opinion. It's the waffles that seal the deal! They really stand out from other ice cream stalls.

Crystal jade egg tarts are pretty good. The pastry is slightly crumbly and flaky and the custard is eggy light and smooth. The custard is very tasty and does not leave you feeling overwhelmed by an eggy taste or leave you with a cloying feeling. The pastry while having a good texture and mouthfeel is not very tasty being pretty plain in terms of taste and rather tasteless. Overall an acceptable egg tart but not outstanding.

Popeyes has really interesting sides that enable it to Stand out from other fast food joints that
Serve fried chicken too. One side that stood out for me were the onion rings. The thin slices of onion were coated with a light batter that was fried to a crisp. The batter was spiced so that it had complexity of flavour and the batter was not limp and soft unlike many other fast food joints. A good effort overall.

The breads are freshly made so they are fluffy and moist, with a crisp exterior that provides crunch and textural contrast if you get your bun toasted.
