I think I need a second visit OK Feb 24, 2014

While looking for a lunch spot on a Friday afternoon, we stumbled upon Ricciotti's 1 for 1 lunch time promotion so we popped in for quite a treat that afternoon.
LINGUINE AL GRANCHIO

LINGUINE AL GRANCHIO

Recommended dish! Big in portion, the only grouse was that I wish the crabmeat was availabe in chunks rather than shredded. Well flavoured with bits of chilli to give it a hint of spicyness,
CARNE

CARNE

The pork ribs turn out pretty dry and with a slight porky smell. The tomato based sauce probably saved it by masking its texture and smell.
The portion is definitely huge and you would probably need to share this. There is a bed of mash potato and ample greens in the salad to make sure you are not getting a meat overdosetongue

Order their desserts and it is obviously not the restaurant's forte. So save the dessert money and head over to the other dessert outlets in Star Vista.

VERDICT

Overall, Ricciotti is still a restaurant which I would still be heading back to when I am looking for a pasta option, if I am in the area. Although the other dishes didnt impress me much, the Linguine Al Granchio is enough to convince me of another trip.

Mediocre to say the least OK Feb 17, 2014

Looking for a better burger? That seems like what Triple O is trying to offer to you. With the price you are paying for "fast food" you wonder how good can it be?

Set meal with sweet potato fries and salad

We ordered a Bacon Burger set with sweet potato fries and apparently a very good cup of Milke Shake with real Premium hand scoop ice cream. We grabbed a salad too for our greens.

Salad was pretty alright but for that price I would rather head over to Carls Jr for their flavorsome chicken chargrilled salad. Bigger portions and bigger flavors.

Bacon burger up close!

The burger was of a sizeable portion but the patty turn out a little thinner than I expected. But still it was pretty packed with bacon and other ingredients to fill you up.

Looking good!

Tastewise, I didn't particularly feel that it was worth the price we were paying? It definitely taste better than other fast food chain's burger, but the lack of sauce evident in this burger.

Top up a few more dollars and you will see me sitting at Relish with one of their juicy beef burgers. Best thing ever.

Sweet potato fries were surprisingly good with a crispy crunch to it.

The milkshake which cost as much as a burger are a letdown cause it just tasted like melted ice cream. My food kaki and I were looking forward to these famous shakes which turn out mehhh.

Isit worth another trip back? Not for me unless they are having some crazy good promotions to entice me to give this place another chance again.

Probably not the Fusion Dishes OK Feb 16, 2014

A little undecided on my review of Laksania cause I am not sure what to expect from the food.

Stepping into Laksania you are expected to have all the Laksa flavored dishes, but yet even though it is as what the name promise, I can't help but felt underwhelmed by the experience.

Spaghetti Pasta

Spaghetti Pasta

The Laksa pasta was simply replacing the thick bee hoon with spaghetti. A little too watery for my liking but the taste wasn't too bad, inclining more towards being more coconut based.

Baked Laksa Rice

Baked Laksa Rice

The baked rice was a little better, with thick cream based sauce drenched atop a bed of fried rice. However the sauce is too little so the dish turn out a little dry in the end.

I will probably be back for their recommended Laksa Varieties, but these fusion laksa dishes definitely didn't rock my boat.

Pub or Restaurant? OK Feb 16, 2014
Categories : Bars/Lounges

Had dinner at Coq & Balls as it was available on the Entertainer app and I wanted to try somewhere new.
Was it worth another go? I would probably had to think again. I didn't bother much with the pictures when the food arrive due to the dim lighting and that it didn't promise me much.
Sandwich

Sandwich

The food was pretty underwhelming where I order a sandwich and also fish & chips. But looking at the atmosphere around the place, it seems to boost more of a pubbing culture then one of a restaurant. The whole time I was there I only caught sight of 3 tables ordering food, while the other are just paying alcohol money.

Perhaps when I am in more of a pub-ing mode, I shall be back again to try out their little bites which seems to the food of choice there.

Huge portions for a starving man OK Feb 16, 2014

Just headed down to Thorirah to get my Mutton Murtabak craving satisfied and I would say that their portion is huge! I ordered their small portion for SGD 7 and it was just nice for me and Mr Heng.
Mutton Murtabak

Mutton Murtabak

I had to struggle a little to finish up my half! If you can see upclose, it consist of a layers of pratas in between and that made every bite pretty starchy. Definitely a good portion for a hungry starving man,

But in terms of taste, i think Thasevi which is down the street is much tastier where they pack the murtabak with loads of ingredients and thinner layers of dough in between!
