Brighten up your day @ Sunray Smile Oct 23, 2013

You know you have enjoyed yourself tremedously at a cafe when you actually bother to head over to its Facebook Page to “Like” it. That is Sunray Cafe for you! I had headed over after a swim with my fellow tam jiak friends to try out this cafe which is located at Brighton Crescent!
The American Breakfast

The American Breakfast

The American breakfast is a pretty hefty portion for a girl, even for someone like me, who is a big eater. Sausages, bacon and that deliciously milky scrambled eggs sitting atop another scrumptious scone, this is one solid meal that will burst that button on your pants.
Eggs Benedict

Eggs Benedict

Eggs Benedict were served atop scones, and that is truly one of the best combinations ever! I used to hate scones but this one was really really well done. Runny gooey york spilled over as I sliced into the egg, tells me it has been done to perfection.
Mushroom Bacon Risotto

Mushroom Bacon Risotto

Mushroom and Bacon Risotto is a glorious sight for the cheesy carbo fan in me. I tried to resist the sin (trying to be on a diet here) but I think I plough my spoon through several times for this dish.

Liquid gold I tell you! It is so shiok that you would have to go down to try it yourself!

Mitsuba by Yurine Japanese Restaurant is the 3rd restaurant started by Chef Peter, a well known grumpy chef of the famed Chikuwa Tei and Wasabi Tei. There have been a loyal following of customers who have sworn their soul to his famous Chirashi Bento. I didnt get to try it this time, so maybe the next!

Check out the Sashimi!

Check out the Sashimi!

I think I died and went to heaven, the moment I shove the first mouthful of minced tuna into my mouth. Damn blardy good. Just look at how thick and juicy each piece of sashimi was!

I really really enjoyed every single item I tried here in Mitsuba by Yurine Japanese Restaurant. The sashimi was fresh, thick, juicy and generous. The rice is also worth a special mention cause it is so fluffy and sweet and deliciously mixed with the Japanese vinegar, I am having a hard time resisting it!

Prices are at SGD20++ for a bowl of salmon don, ,but trust me. You will be darn willingly to pay that price for this bowl of heaven on earth

Korean Rice Cake

Korean Rice Cake

This is a must try! Best rice cake i have ever eaten! Well cooked with the right sauce, you just want more and more! Generous serving of sauce which coates each and ever rice cake and veggie. Craving for it now!
Korean Hotpot

Korean Hotpot

Consist of Veggie, Luncheon Meat, Maggi Mee, Beancurd, this dish is definitely well stocked with ingredients! Super yummy but it taste pretty much like nong shim cup noodles, which is one if my fav cup noodles so no complains from my side! However the price of this might be a turn off cause you can get the similar taste for less that $2.
Seafood Pancake

Seafood Pancake

Everyone said it tasted like orh lua cause of the starchy texture. But it is well fried, offering a crispy exterior and a smooth interior which is an absolute divine!

Complimentary Side Dishes

Love the refillable side dishes that comes before the start of each meal. I particularly love the beancurd and kimchi there!
Seafood Pancake

Seafood Pancake

I think among all the Korean restaurants that I had been to, this is one of the better Korean pancake which I have taken. Flavorsome and packed with kimchi, it is pan fried till a crispy layer is formed on the outside and yet still remind chewy on the inside.
Soup

Soup

I have heard of the soups at Joo Mak to be flavorsome and we ordered one of them to find this rumor true!

It is definitely a thumbs up for the dishes! I didn’t manage to try more of the dishes at Joo Mak, but I will definitely keep adding more dishes once I have visited this place a few more times!

The Buffeet To Try At Least Once! Smile Oct 22, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi | Buffet

Japanese buffets are not uncommon in Singapore and almost everyone have been to one at least once in my life. It is typical what you can find in each one of those and I can almost plan out my eating itinerary on the way to the restaurant.

However with this new food place I am introducing, I found myself surprised with the array of food available! Till date, this is the single place where I spam so much pictures in a single sitting!

If there is any questions on the food, I would say it is as good as it looks!

The best thing is, each month you head back to the buffet line, it is a different spread so that you can get to taste different food all the time! Embarrassingly the spread you just say is for (*whisper*) June (*whisper*)
