While on the lookout for a good healthy lunch, I happened to come across The Lawn's website and I decided to head down with one of my colleagues try out their outlet which offers customizable salad options!

When I step into the stall I was a little confused at first but one of the helpers kindly guided me throughout the process where I had to choose 5 toppings, 1 sauce and 1 grill to go with my salad! There is also an olive rice option but i wasnt in the mood for carbo.

After poring over the selections, I went for the Chicken with Maple Infusion and the premium wasabi based Wasahonie sauce which are placed a topped my greens 5 favourite toppings! We paid at the counter before being given a number tag for the meal to be delivered to our table.I also ordered their soup of the day which was mushroom soup. The serving size didnt impress me at first, but one slurp of it and I am sold! Chunky flavoursome mushroom soup, what is not to like about it! With a wholemeal bun to match, it this small portion is pretty filling for a side dish!Our bowls arrived and we were left gaping at the sheer size of the portions. The team at Lawn is certainly generous! Chunk of meat covered the salad, a sight which is rarely see on a salad.Everything was well seasons and no one taste overpower the taste of the other. It was a perfect harmony of flavours and I totally dont regret topping up for the Wasahonie sauce which is d.i.v.i.n.e! My colleague kind of mismatch her flavours so it turned out a little weird, but it was nevertheless still pretty yummy.

All these choices didnt cost us more than 12 dollars per pax. Super reasonably prices in my opinion!

VERDICT
I think Lawn can join my list of favourite healthy eatouts, together with "Soup Spoon". Good fresh food with portions that can fill you up the whole day, (how often does that happen?), whats not to love about this place!

My only grouse is that you would need a little navigating when you head over to the lawn which is located a 15 minutes walk from Buona Vista MRT station. If you think positively, at least you are getting a healthy work out from all that walking!

Visted Boston Shack during their lunch hour and order for myself a 3 course meal in this new establishment. I love the place is brightly coloured with a strong sailor theme to reflect their food offerings. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available which ample amount of fans to make sure you never have a hot moments. Service is also pretty fast and we didnt have to wait for long to get our dishes served upThere is definitely a strong seafood flavour, which I thought was quite good. I am pretty sure they didnt make this from scratch, but at least it didnt taste like it was bad can soup.
SGD 6.50The battered fish was definitely fried till crispy, however there was too much batter and the fish was obviously not fresh as there was a fishy aftertaste, my other colleagues also second that opinion; so definitely a thumbs down from me.
The money would be better spent at Manhattan Fish Market

VERDICT
It would be hard to convince me to give this place another chance given the experience, and that there are so much other better cafes competiting for that dollars in your pocket.

Located right along Tiong Bahru room ,you can hardly miss out this bakery where assortments of kueys, cakes and tarts entice you in.I bought quite a variety of kuey that day and I found their items to be pretty good! With soft chewy textures and ample dose of coconut to make it much more fragrant.

Ondeh ondeh is one of their best sellers which I tried, but I found the gula melaka wrapped in its soft green kuey to be too little. If only there is more gula melaka to give it the "burst of flavours" when you bite into it.

Their Tapioca cake is pretty darn awesome, so why not hop over if you are in the area to give it a try if you haven done so?

While looking for a lunch spot on a Friday afternoon, we stumbled upon Ricciotti's 1 for 1 lunch time promotion so we popped in for quite a treat that afternoon.Recommended dish! Big in portion, the only grouse was that I wish the crabmeat was availabe in chunks rather than shredded. Well flavoured with bits of chilli to give it a hint of spicyness,The pork ribs turn out pretty dry and with a slight porky smell. The tomato based sauce probably saved it by masking its texture and smell.
The portion is definitely huge and you would probably need to share this. There is a bed of mash potato and ample greens in the salad to make sure you are not getting a meat overdoseOrder their desserts and it is obviously not the restaurant's forte. So save the dessert money and head over to the other dessert outlets in Star Vista.

VERDICT

Overall, Ricciotti is still a restaurant which I would still be heading back to when I am looking for a pasta option, if I am in the area. Although the other dishes didnt impress me much, the Linguine Al Granchio is enough to convince me of another trip.

Spotted this outlet after a visit to a nearby restaurant cafe and I find this a perfect place to chill out after lunch over their yummy gelatos away from the hot cruel sun. 







Order the Avocado and pistachio flavor after a round of tasting and they are really good! Rich and creamy, the flavors are closely matched to the original ingredients. 



I spent a good half an hour chilling out in their cozy environment which has quite a steady stream of customers. 

Prices are pretty much similar to what is offered outside, SGD 4.50 for a single cup scoop, SGD 6.50 for 2 scoops and SGD 8.50 for 3 scoops.

Definitely worth a trip down if you are in the area and looking for a place to chill out at.
