Mango Dessert Smile Jun 18, 2013

Tried the shaved mango ice with almond. Those small round balls will burst when you bite into them and mango flavour will pour out! The portion of chopped mango is generous and sweet and juicy! The bits of almond flakes (not sure if they toasted it) adds a nice textural dimension to the dessert and gives it a lovely burst of warm mellowness among the sweetness. Very tasty!

Chicken Rice  Smile Jun 18, 2013

If you're at Whampoa, don't miss out on this delicious chicken rice! The rice is smooth and fragrant and absolutely delicious to eat even on its own. But don't miss out their chicken! The meat is tender, not too dry, and very flavourful (the skin has all the taste)! Plus, the fried thai style tofu is bagus (good)! Crispy on the outside, then covered with that sweet and sour thai sauce makes it super yummy!

Truffle Mushroom Soup Smile Jun 18, 2013

I stand by the statement that anything with Truffles is better by about 20%! So take a simple dish like mushroom soup, add a drizzle of cream and a dash of parsley and on top of that, add some Truffle Oil, you have a great dish! It's hearty (can taste the chunks of mushroom) and delicious! It smells fantastic because of the truffle oil! You'll be slurping down the whole bowl before you realize it.

Cold Delights Smile Jun 18, 2013

In our hot Singapore weather, one must turn to cold desserts to beat off the heat. Tong Seng at Chomp Chomp serves cheap and decent desserts! The Soursop with Ice Jelly is super good! The cold ice with the slightly sour and sweet jelly is super satisfying on a hot day. The texture of the jelly is good, not too soft. And the syrup is sweet enough to coat the ice and not feel like you are just eating plain ice.

Burger at 4 Fingers OK Jun 18, 2013

The queue at 4 Fingers is almost always horribly long so prepare to queue up for at least 15 mins. I ordered something different this time - the teriyaki chicken burger. It's not what I expected! They basically slice or shred the chicken and mix with this cold slaw with a slightly spicy and tart vinaigrette. The warm buns paired with the cold slaw was quite refreshing but there was HARDLY any chicken in it! I could barely taste a few bits so most of it was just slaw and bread. My fries was the kimchi fries but other than the bit of powder sprinkled over it, it wasn't fantastic.
