One of the best ramens Smile Aug 14, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Ramen

The Char Siu Ramen (Miso) is one of the must tries. The char siu portion is generous and the ramen tasted great!

The Tokusen Toroniku Ramen (Shoyu), which is roasted pork cheeks ramen. A first taste of the ramen without mixing the ingredients felt great. Definitely, mixing the ingredients made the ramen much nicer. The Spain Iberico pork cheeks were full on flavour and smooth. The ramen tasted smooth and springy. A definite must try if you are here, and the servings are generous too!

A recommended place for ramen and one of the best ramen restaurants in Singapore as voted by numerous websites and blogs, I personally feel the same that this place truly deserves to be one of the tops. Must come!

Great ramen at Tampines Smile Aug 14, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Ramen

The Gyoza 5 pieces is crispy on the outside and filling on the inside. Not a tad too oily.

The Arashi Genkotsu Miso Ramen tasted great as the char siu were peppered with flavour although the soup tasted slightly strong of garlic which left a bit of aftertaste.

The Arashi Genkotsu Ramen which is their original tonkotsu ramen tasted great and flavourful, char siu peppered with flavour as well as the soup also left an aftertaste of garlic. The downside for both ramens was that the eggs came in hard-boiled, contrary to most ramens having soft-boiled eggs (it was told prior to ordering the egg comes hard-boiled, whether ramen or a-la-carte).

Signature gyoza Smile Aug 14, 2013

Categories : Japanese

The Fuwatoro Tenshin Han was basically fluffy omelette rice with a thick layer of gravy poured on it. This tasted great and is a must have as its not commonly found in other Japanese establishments.

The Gyokai Ramen tasted not too bad but not outstanding either.

The Gyoza 6 pieces comes with the sets. Its understandable how they are famed for these gyozas. These are slightly pan-fried and tasted great with each bite.

This place serves Houji Cha, which is roasted green tea, as opposed to most other restaurants serving Ocha. Nonetheless, this tasted fragrant and refreshing.

Chococro OK Aug 14, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Café | Desserts and Cakes

Having passing by the newest addition to Marina Square, The Dining Edition, which is the newest portion of Marina Square dedicated to a wide range of restaurants, some new to town, I glanced upon St. Marc Cafe which my friend & I then went today.

Most people who have been to St. Marc Cafe knows that they are famed for their chococro, a croissant filled with chocolate. Living up to their fame, this white chocolate variant (the White Chococro) tasted great. For people with a sweet tooth, this is a definite must order.

The Kintoki Milk was a tad disappointment not for the fact that it was a vanilla flavour "ice kachang" filled with milk with azuki beans on its side, but the fact that I ended eating 2 small pieces of plastic made me felt disgusted with this dessert. Otherwise, this tasted great but definitely not worth the price.

I will come back here again, but definitely more on the chococros.

New cafe in Holland Village OK Aug 14, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Café

I was brought to this place at Holland Village that opened not long ago. This place is opened by the owners of 3 Inch Sin, famed for their molten lava cake (and of course, they do sell it here!). And since its on a weekday, they have a 1-to-1 opening promotion for their sandwiches.

The milk in the Flat White was thick enough.

The Long Black was strong enough too.

The Spam Frites is great to snack on. Savoury and slightly crisp, while not being too salty at the same time.

The Turkey Breast Sandwich had smoked turkey breast, mozzarella cheese, cranberry sauce and avocado slices placed on a wholemeal panini serves with chips. This tasted full of flavour.

The Craft is their signature sandwich, consisting of maple-candied bacon and green apple slaw placed in between 2 waffles served with chips. The waffles were crisp but slightly tasteless. The bacon and the coleslaw are not bad though.
