I had my birthday celebration here because friends knew that I would like to try the Orni (Yam Paste dessert) which I heard is nice. We went to the 1st shop at Boon Keng Station which my friend said it suppose to be the nicest among the branches. It was crowded during the Saturday dinner so I advise if you have a big group, do always make reservation to avoid disappointment.

We had 11 people and just nice to go for the set menu which has 8 dishes include the yam dessert. Overall the food is average.

Most of my friends cannot taste what is the sauce taste but some of us still can taste it having banana flavour.

Cheap and Good Thai Cuisine  Smile Jul 29, 2013

Categories : Thai | Coffeeshop | Rice

One of my lunch options at Ubi Avenue area near my workplace. I am not too sure where I can find other Thai cuisines but great that the coffee shop at Ubi Place have one. It is always long queue for this stall. The food here tasted quite good. I tried their Phad Thai and glass noodles. Every time I am here, I got these 2 items, so these time I was thinking to have something different. I tried their NEW Thai Sukiyaki. Thai Sukiyaki Seafood Soup($4.50) - I know Japanese Sukiyaki, but never heard about the Thai version. I was a bit worry about the taste but glad that I am totally find with it and best if you have it during a cold weather.

One plus point here is they can prepare vegetarian Thai Cuisine for you. If you are not a very particular vegetarian like my colleague, this is one of your choice, simple yet tasty Phad Thai without any meaty stuff.

Cute Panda Bao Cry Jul 26, 2013

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Multi-Concept | Kids-Friendly

I normally try to avoid dining in Zoo/bird park or any tourist attractions, simply because I found the food there is expensive and normally not really nice. So I don't feel worth eating there. I went to the Mama Panda Kitchen last week when I visited River Safari simply because I was attracted by the cute bao there, the panda bao. If you are friend of River Safari, the member, you will have 10% discount on the food and souvenir.

Due to the cuteness of Panda I got the Panda Bao($2.90) and the Panda Cappuccino ($5.50). The bao comes with red bean paste filling, tasted good, in fact is the best of all the dishes. Cappuccino has not much coffee taste, so it failed to me.

The fried lotus chips tasted quite nice. This is the 2nd best among all the food.

My friends got the bamboo rice set menu($13.90). I did not try their main dishes but heard from their feedback, tasteless so they had to use the sambal chili to taste it up.

I knew about this ramen place through Groupon promotion, then only I know it is there quite sometime. It is under Nantsuttei group which have one famous ramen at Parco Marina@Milliniea Walk.

Understand from its website, the broth for the soup is chicken based. However they do serve char siew which is pork. I bought $30 worth voucher for $18 at Groupon. We got 2 Hachifukumaru Ramen, then topped up with roasted char siew and flavored egg. We got gyoza too.

Hachifukumaru Ramen($13++) - Healthier ramen choice with eight bounties of nature, cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, ginger, nira, corn, negi and garlic. You can choose between 3 oil - black garlic oil, black negi oil and red chili oil. I got the black garlic oil, it smelled good. The portion of ramen is quite a lot for me, so when I finished it, I was so full.Soup base not that salty which suite me. The char siew is good too.

Local Delight OK Jul 26, 2013
Categories : Peranakan / Nonya | Halal

I actually stood there for at least 5mins, thinking what should I order? It seems nothing in my mind when I saw the price and the food, it is really too local and if I am going to food court, I might get something similar but with cheaper price. Nevertheless, it was still crowded on the day we went.

Laksa Set($5.50) - Laksa itself is $4.50, additional $1 for a tea, that is what I feel more worthwhile. The laksa tasted very unusual, not the normal santan one, I tasted sour, not sure is it nyonya style. I forgot to eat first only requested for more chili paste, see how much I had, so my laksa was quite spicy after additional chili.
Not like normal taste

Nyonya Fried Rice($7.50) - If I am not wrong about the price, it is spicy but tasted quite good. I never try satay but my 2 friends said satay tasted average only.
