Cheeseeeee burger!! Smile Jul 22, 2013
Categories : American | Fast Food | Burgers and Sandwiches

A new fast food chain that opened at Toa Payoh lately. My friend told me the famous cheese-steak burger and I checked online for the menu. I expect a new place like this will be crowded but it is not. I guess it could be due to the popularity not that high and also not everyone like the cheese. Like one of my friend dun like it as he feel the cheese too thick.

I am super cheese lover, so definitely will not miss the chance to try it out. I got Set 1 combo(Yellow Submarines Classic), it come with the beef burger, Torpedo Fries and drink of your choice. It is self-service, you will be given a number and while it is your turn, the number will show and you just go to the "mouth of the burger" to collect. You may request for extra cheese if you want to be more cheesy.

The burger is good with more cheese sauce because I just love cheese. The highlight is the cheese fries. This is so yummy and xinful. I requested additional sauce. The fries is still crispy but if you soak it in the sauce for too long. It will become soggy but that doesn't matter because I still love it!smile

Banana Prata Is Good OK Jul 18, 2013
Categories : Indian | Halal

I went back to this place after more than 6 months where suddenly me and my friends we had craving on prata again. She never been here, so thinking to try some special prata, as most of the prata elsewhere not the crispy type. This round I was a bit disappointed so as my friend as she was thinking to have those very special kind.

We ordered 3 crispy prata($0.90 each), 1 egg prata, 1 bomb kaya, 1 banana prata and 2 pieces of cripsy fried chicken($4 each), of course the teh tarik($0.90) as usual. The teh tarik still same as last time, not really my liking, crispy fried chicken I felt less taste. These 2 items, I prefer the one near my house, the Haji Karim. Crispy prata and bomb prata somehow I feel quite think and I had a feeling like eating bun. The bomb prata not the same as I had in Malaysia, it is not mixed well, you can only find kaya at one side. According to one of my friend, it suppose to come out like a bomb, round then later it will become flat but we don't see that effect. In KL, I seldom see such bomb effect but the taste of Roti Bomb(Bomb Prata) tasted better than here. Credit to the egg prata and banana prata, especially banana prata, I feel this is really nice compare to the one I tried at Prata Raya.

I suddenly had craving for prata and easiest place is Haji Karim, which is so near to my place, 2 mins walk probably and they open 24 hours so I can come at anytime. I got the prata and teh tarik of course, but I cannot stop myself of getting the ayam goreng(fried chicken) too. Teh tarik as usual, nice but a bit sweet for me. However, every time if I dine in, I still have it as my default drink. Prata tasted average, the fried chicken tasted quite nice but too salty. This means they marinated well. One dish I would like yo recommend is their Kway Teow Goreng in red, tasted so good to me. I tried bee hun version but still prefer kway teow. If I am coming to pack for my dinner, that is always my 1st choice.

One thing they need to take note is the cleanliness as I find some plates and cups were not cleaned well, you can still see the dirt inside, especially when I finished my drink, I found some lime seeds residue.

Nitrogen Ice-cream OK Jul 16, 2013
Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato

The new ice cream stall at AMK with different concept - A Revolutionary of NEW Ice Cream. What they have? They don't serve normal ice cream. They make ice cream on the spot in just 5mins. You might think our normal way of ice cream we need to put in freezer for at least 1-2hours before we can have it.

The secret is they use nitrogen to make the ice cream. It is a concept from Australia and 1st in Singapore. I tried because of the novelty. You see all the staff dress in scientists attire, the container they use is the lab tabung uji. 1st when I saw it, I feel like too chemical and totally dun feel like want to have it. This time me and my friends passed by and she was attracted by this new idea. Since we were sharing, why not. We ordered common like mango taste. The Chef'choice is the New Popcorn. You can find the durian on the list too.

You can stand there and see how your ice cream is made while waiting. 1st the staff will pour the nitrogen out then add the mango flavour to it then mix it well. You will see all the cool gas coming out from the mixing bowl. After few mins, your ice cream is ready.

How it taste? It tasted like normal ice cream but smoother. Not too sweet but I don't really like it as the mango flavour tasted a bit artificial. It said on the poster:
1. 100% Original
2. 0% Artificial
3. 0% Additive
4. 0% Sugar Added
5. 0% Coloring
6. 0% Stabilizer

Not too bad Prata Place OK Jul 16, 2013
Categories : Indian | Halal

I only tried it few months later after its renovation and found this is not Ah Mei. It is still selling prata but replaced with Prata Raya. I love teh tarik and prata so much. So how is the prata tasted? Not my kind of liking, not cripsy and tasted average but if I have prata craving and find no other place, I will still come here. The fried chicken is not crispy and it was cold. The teh tarik tasted not really good but my friend feel ok for her, I can have better elsewhere. Price is reasonable and it is air-conditioned. It was getting crowded when it come to late night. They do sell other food like murtabak etc, maybe I should try that next time.
