Nice hokkien mee Smile Dec 09, 2013

Categories : Coffeeshop | Noodles

This shop is a fish soup shop in the day and a hokkien mee stall by night. The place although not very clean, but the service is good and friendly. This hokkien mee is the super watery kind. But I love this kind! The hokkien mee is a little on the salty side, but it is flavourful. I love their chilli as it is a little sweet and yet it is not too spicy that will overwhelm the noodles.

Tom Yum dinner Smile Dec 08, 2013

This koufu is nice and clean, and the service is very friendly. I like this Tomyum because it is not extremely spicy that i cannot take it, it is just the nice spiciness level. The noodle was a little thick and hard for me, but might be because personally i love noodles that are soft. I like it because it is not like other Tom Yums which leave me feeling very thirsty after.

This shop is located at quite an ulu place near taiseng mrt in a coffeeshop. The place although not very clean or glamourous, but the auntie serving was very nice. She is a Thai! Maybe that's why the food is so good.

I ordered a tom yum with fried fish with rice. Wooohoooo. Its the best I have ever had. The fried fish even after soaking up the tom yum, is not crunchy but its abit like tau pok. Like you bite and the soup kinda oozes out. The soup itself is flavourful, and the spices smell is really good.. I think because of the lemongrass used. Mmmmyum!

Kith Cafe Smile Dec 05, 2013

Categories : Café | Brunch

First time I'm here and I'm really impressed with the furnishing and interior design, really liked how they made the details all come together into one coherent identity for the cafe. The tables are put together with different planks of wood plus a constrasting plank of yello marble or acrylic. This is also carried over to the clipboard menu they have where is is laminated brown with yellow colour. The chairs also carries the same language of this plank and the chairs are modular, making it very practical when accomodating different groups of people. Also. The seats are small yet pratical, not like those in subway where it takes up all the space in the restaurant. The big breakfast was reallyyyyy big. I had sourdough toast and poached eggs ( we could choose the type of toast and egg) I enjoyed my sourdough, a little crispy and not gelat, but I enjoyed my friend's brioche toast more because it had a buttery sweet taste! The egg I would have preferred a more softer egg white but this is good as well. Really liked the Hotdog on my plate. It had a nice flavour, not too strong, but nice to complement. The mushrooms were a nice complement to the super salty bacon!

Birthday cake from pine gardens Smile Dec 04, 2013

Categories : Bakery | Desserts and Cakes

This cake is lychee martini flavour from pine gardens. There is real lychee bits inbetween the cakes within the cream! The cream was a little gelat but for the one slice I took, it was still alright. The Martini flavour is not too overwhelming but the presence of it was there.

Personally I feel that it still loses out to fruit cakes but this as a lychee martini cake is quite a nice cake to be bought for parties and friends.
