Hakka Yong Ta Fu OK Aug 26, 2013
Categories : Hakka | Coffeeshop

Hakka Yong Tau Fu for lunch. The chilli was stuffed with fish meat and it was fresh and succulent. The vegetable was plentiful as well, and the other stuff goes very well with white plain rice. The fishball taste a little weird (not the usual type that i like), but it's acceptable. The friend beancurd skin is awesome. I like the sauce as well, which is neither too salty not too bland.

Zi Char Meal OK Aug 26, 2013

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Hawker Centre | Zi Char

Found this Zi Char stall in bedok, which serves dishes which are pretty ok.

This braised tofu with seafood and vegetable is apparently made there. Not too sure whether it's true but the prawns are nicely done and tasty. The tofu is smooth as well.

"San Se Dan" and vegetable soup has three different kinds of eggs - salted egg, century egg and normal egg. The soup is passable and not too fantasic.

They serve set meals as well

Bread and Toast OK Aug 26, 2013
Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop

Went for the kaya butter bread toast and half boiled eyes together with coffee (with milk set). The quality at the different ya kun stalls seem to differ. For this particular stall, the toast is not hot enough when served and thus left me a little dissatisfied. This seems to be a common problem at many of their franchise stalls (with pre-prepared toast). The kaya, nevertheless, is passable.

Jap Dinner Smile Aug 26, 2013

This stall does not seem amazingly good from the exterior, but i was pleasantly surprised by the quality and freshness of the food. The sushis are good, compared to other mass market sushi chains and the portion is sufficient as well (at least for me). Would recommend this salmon sushi topped with fish roe. The sushi goes well with the creamy sauce and the fish roe, making it a delightful dish.

Seems to be the same vendor as the Raffles Place Halia. The food quality is equally good as well. Reviewing the brownie with ice cream and singapore sling today. The brownie came warm nicely topped with sauce and premium vanilla ice cream. Great as an after meal dessert. The singapore sling is amazing refreshing as well. I heard the Singapore Sling originated from them, and it did not disappoint.
