Tiramisu Smile Aug 14, 2013
Categories : Café | Desserts and Cakes

Dessert bought home by my sister from Wimbly Lu Cafe. The Tiramisu was packed in an interesting plastic cup (which is pretty unconventional haha). However, the taste was surprisingly good. The alcohol content, cream and other ingredients have just the right amount. The serving was sufficient and generous (not too shabby like other tiramisus which comes in a small little cup). Good dessert to end of a meal.

J K Don Jap and Korean Food Cry Aug 14, 2013

J K Don

Menu with old fashion design and stains on it. This is my first negative review and I suggest one to exercise caution before dining at this place. First of all, the service was bad. The staff got the orders wrong and some dishes took very long to arrive (the bill came immediately though).
Sashimi Rice

Sashimi Rice

Sashimi Rice Set. This dish was passable. I asked the staff where the fishes were from but she declined to answer. However, she did mention that the fishes arrived only the day before. The sashimi was ok, not too fresh, but not unfresh either. It's like what you get at mass market japanese chains. The rice was a little too sour in my opinion.
Tempura with Noodle

Tempura with Noodle

This dish was horrible and I suggest for all to skip it. It took nearly 45mins to arrive. The tempura carrot was too hard (almost non-edible) and the tempura golden mushroom only had a few pathetic strands of mushroom with like 95% flour chunks. The noodle tastes like rubber bands (too hard, not spongy).

Went back to the Halia for dessert and to chill.
Dessert

Dessert

Dessert. This is good, but i really cannot remember it's name. Soft and creamy and will make anyone's day.
Strawberry Sauce

Strawberry Sauce

Strawberry sauce with ice cream. The server will pour white wine onto the dish upon its arrival. The strawberry sauce, wine goes pretty well with the ice cream and surprisingly, although it's a little too sweet, i'm still able to enjoy it.

Turkey Melt Sandwich OK Aug 13, 2013

Turkey Melt Sandwich

Turkey Melt Sandwich

Went to JEM for lunch and found this salad stall. Specializes in salads but i decided to go for the turkey melt sandwich instead. The serving is not too big and it's a tad pricey for the food and quality. The presentation, taste, quality and serving of the sandwich was ok, nothing much to rave about but not too shabby either. Would love it if there were more mozzarella cheese inside

QQ Noodle OK Aug 13, 2013

Signature QQ noodle

Signature QQ noodle

Signature QQ noodle. Found this stall at the heart of Bugis Street, along the road. Vaguely recall their advert and decided to give it a try. Ordered the signature QQ noodle with dark and chilli sauce. The noodle was true to its name - 'QQ' and spongy. Unique and tastes slightly different from normal noodles. But the sauce could've had a heavier taste to it and will be much nicer if it's more spicy.
