It has been a long time since we last visit to the stall, perhaps five to seven years ago or probably even more. However, this is one of the kway chap stalls that is deeply ingrained in our memories. Something that can stay in a person memory is usually the best or the worst memory, and this is especially true when come to food.Well, the reason is straight forward; we don’t condone hawkers that are cocky and arrogant. Then, why are we back here again after so many years? Reason is that simple; we observed and found they have improved in the attitude, so we decided to give them a try.
We ordered a mixture of braised pork, tau pok, intestine and eggs. The braised pork, tau pok, intestines and the heavenly braised eggs were still well marinated and soaked up all the essence of the gravy. The intestines were well cleaned and did not have the stench of the viscera parts. We especially love the braised eggs, the familiar nostalgia taste crept stealthily back into our taste buds when the egg was delivered in our mouth. The eggs were the first item we ordered and this is one of the die die must eat items from the stall. The flavour is simply zesty and luscious that is regrettable if you missed it out in your order.
This is one of the better Kway chap that we have eaten.

We ordered the serving for two ($9) and it came with standard braised items like pork belly, innards, Tau pok (fluffy fried bean curd), eggs, fish cakes and salted vegetable. The “Kway” was smooth and has a soft texture, the interesting part was the sauce added into the bowl of “kway”, it tasted sweet with a touch of cinnamon flavour. This is the first time we’ve ever tasted sweet kway chap and honestly, because it’s so different from what have come to expect, we are are not sure if we can accept it yet…
The assortment of braised items score well for their excellent taste and texture, we especially like the melt-in-your-mouth braised pork. The innards did not have the porky smell and go very well with the chili sauce as well. The Chili sauce is worth a special mention, as it comes with a perfect balance of sweetness and sourness accompanied by the right level of spiciness. This is probably one of the best chili sauce we’ve ever tasted from a Kway Chap stall.

That orangey red gravy, glistening with promise of a rich and spicy experience was what drew us to this stall. What we got at Ah Heng Curry Chicken Bee Hoon mee managed to whet our appetite on sight, and did not disappoint. The toppings were equally impressive, with tender steamed chicken, perfect soft potatoes and flavourful tau pok – we enjoyed every bite.
This is one of the best Curry Chicken Bee Hoon Mee we have eaten. Yummy!

Located along the shophouses just opposite the popular Zion road Food Centre, Indochili brings traditional and home-style authentic Indonesian cuisine to Singapore.Dark wooden timber dominates the interior; the tables, counter, partition and outdoor alfresco dining deck – all built with dark timber, a typical Javanese decor element.
We ordered Frape Choco S$7.80 / Avocado juice S$6.80,Tahu Telor S$8.80,Cah Kangkung S$8.80,Rendang Sapi (Beef) S$9.80,Combo Bakarak S$42.80 and Es Delima (Thai red ruby).
Our verdict – Indochili is definitely a good spot to enjoy sumptuous and authentic Indonesian cuisine. If we had to recommend a good Indonesian restaurant, we are pretty sure Indochili would be on the list! Tahu Telor and Rendang Sapi are a must try!

sQue – pronounced as ‘skew’ – a rotisserie and alehouse located along the Singapore River. The promenade has seen much evolution, constantly reinventing itself to keep pace with modern Singapore, so the new menu introduced here seemed to be a pretty great opportunity to revisit both the river and the restaurant to see what’s been up lately!
sQue serves an array of rotisserie dishes including grilled meat, salads, burgers, pastas and a huge selection of lagers, beers and lambics. We like the abundance of choice here!
sQue is definitely a great place for chilling out with friends while enjoying a glass of cold beer with an excellent variety of food - ideal for large groups with finicky taste buds. Set against the backdrop of the vibrant Singapore River, the friendly staff and great service here added up to an all-round pleasant experience.
Tuna steak S$25+ and sQue Platter S$98+
