Badoque is located in Simpang Bedok, a popular “makan” spot, especially for Halal food. You’d be spoiled for choice by the various types of Halal eateries here, ranging from Western food, fast food to local cooked dishes or zi char.
We came on a weekend evening, and the area was packed. Stepping inside, we were greeted by the café’s modern decor – black painted walls adorned with framed pictures and pop-up alphabets, with the choice of an air conditioned or al fresco sitting area. The menu was vibrantly coloured, which is lovely, but it was also kind of hard to find what we wanted since the food items were all over the place.
On the whole, we found the food portions here huge, so we were speculating that was probably what kept the customers coming back, especially since we find that the food quality here wasn’t exactly top notch. That said, if you intend to pay a visit to Badoque, we recommend giving the Naked Salmon, Mango Yoghurt smoothie and Mango Soda a try.

Blanco Court Prawn Mee occupies one of the shop houses along Beach Road, we were there early in the Sunday morning and the city area was much a dead town in the weekend morning. When we reached there, most of the shops still have it doors shut but the crowd already occupied half of the shop, looks like there is always a pool of prawn mee die-hard fans.
We ordered the dry and soup version.
The dry version served with bean sprout, vegetable, lard and few shrimp, the sauce was not too spicy and right at the note, the taste may not as good as Da Tou Xia Prawn Mee with lacking or insufficient dry shrimp (hia bee) to perk up the taste, it may not too refine but still comforting to the taste buds.
The soup version came with pork rib which was a little tough, prawns were similar to the dry version and nothing to complaint about. It was the broth that we are more particular, since we were there in the morning and the broth was fairly fresh with not much of the additional seafood flavouring added through the subsequent cooking process of the prawns.

Seoul Yummy at Marina Square is the fourth outlet that they have, and it opened on 30th June so it is relatively new. Walking into Seoul Yummy, you can hear the latest K-pop songs playing while being greeted by wide smiles and courteous staff. That’s not all, most of the ingredients used in the food are all imported from Korea, so what you eat is the best you can get.
Starter
Free flow of starters while waiting for the main course. Nice Korean appetizers to kick start the meal.
Must Try Braised Pork Belly ($9.90),Spicy Rice Cake ($8.90),Kimchi Pancake ($7.90),Sindangdong Doekbokki ($39.90) and Special Trio Bingsoo ($7.90)
Overall, most dishes were commendable and it is definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for some authentic good old Korean dishes. Loved the dishes, the drinks and the people, we’ll be sure to drop by if we’re in the area.

Grand Mandarin Restaurant is strategically located right next to the MRT station and is surrounded by offices and shop houses, with an open car park next to the restaurant. No problems with accessibility at all – definitely an ideal location for an F&B establishment!
We were invited to sample the fine dining menu that comes with a price tag of $174++ per pax.
Our favorites :
1. Honey Glazed Barbecued Pork Loin ($15 per order)
Every famous restaurant must have their signature dish. For Grand Mandarin Restaurant, it is the Honey Glazed Barbecued Pork Loin. The crimson red roasted meat was glistening with a fine layer of oil, with a lovely light charring from the caramelization of the honey; it was aesthetically pleasing and appealing.
2. Double-boiled chicken soup with nassarius and gastrodia tuber ($20++ per pax)
The double-boiled soup was packed with quality herbs and seafood. Each sip immersed us in a potent and luscious broth.
3. Grilled lamb ribs with egg in Mongolian style ($48++ per pax)
One of the more unique dishes we have tried, the lamb ribs were grilled to a perfection, topped with a lava egg that when pierced and flowing over the lamb, coated the well grilled lamb chop with its gooey yolk added another dimension to the taste – a delicate and exquisite flavour.
4. Chilled bean curd pudding with Mango puree served with coconut ice cream ($10++ per pax)
The traditional mango pudding was given a further twist with the inclusion of melt-in-your-mouth soybean curd. Good innovation and harmonized well with the main courses.
Overall, Grand Mandarin Restaurant presented each dish impeccably in terms of both taste and aesthetics.

SUFOOD 舒果 @ Raffles City Singapore – Innovative Vegetarian food!
SUFOOD Singapore finds its inspiration in Italian cuisine; chiefly through its reliance on using basic cooking techniques that coax diverse and rich flavors from quality ingredients in order to create innovative and delicious meat-free dishes.
Strictly speaking, SuFood is not purely Italian cuisine but rather a fusion of both Italian and Chinese. You can find pasta, spaghetti, baked rice, salad, pastries in the menu – alongside seaweed, Chinese herbal or stewed vegetable soup and invigorating local desserts.
If you think vegetarian food is lackluster without meaty flavours, you will probably be impressed by how SuFood can challenge your prejudice. We tasted an 8 course meal ($25 per head) and from the appetizer, main course to the dessert, we give them a big thumbs up.
Besides its emphasis on health by providing balanced, nutritious food, and fresh ingredients without artificial chemical and additives, SuFood also did not neglect the aesthetic factor as well, as every dish served was beautifully plated and presented. The sequence of dishes served achieved a certain harmony in taste, allowing you to fully appreciate the art of eating and the beauty of the food.
