It was my first time at I am cafe and i quite like the ambience there, quite suitable for friends to hang out together and have some small bites or desserts.I have ordered this rainbow cake and it lis so pretty!! It cost me $8 and i shared it with my friend. The taste is rather mediocre but i guess it’s selling point is how pretty it looks. My friend ordered the honey mooney for $6.90. it is quite sweet to my liking actually.Overall, I will be returning in future to try out the other desserts here.

Spending per head: Approximately $8(Tea)

Nice laska Smile Mar 16, 2014

was at katong last night and thinking what to have for dinner. as we walked along the streets of katong, i then realize it as been quite some time since i have last patronize katong laska.

we ordered one small laska each ($4.50 for one) and a otah for $1.20. the laska gravy is rich . and flavorful. we like it alot. also, there are 4 prawns inside and they are fresh and yummy. although $4.50 is quite pricey as compared to the laska in hawker centre, the quality and quantity is worth it. a small bowl of katong laska is already enough to keep me full through out the night. my only complain is more soup should be given! i really love their soup!.

their otah is huge and taste too. no fishy smell and the spice is just nice.

Thai food OK Mar 14, 2014

This was my second visit to siam kitchen. This time round, I have decided to try out other dishes. I ordered tomyum soup, 2 servings of rice and sambal stingray (which is actually a chef recommendation) and share it with my friend. The tomyum soup was nice, it is both sour and spicy enough to my liking. However, the fish has this “fishy” taste that we couldn’t take itThe sambal stingray, was rather disappointing as it wasn’t even spicy to me. It cost ard sgd $15 and I find it not very worthwhile for money. The stingray is quite fresh but its just a pity that the sambal chilli was not spicy enough.Overall, I will still return next time to try out the other ale carte dishes 9as im a huge fan of thai cuisine) but will not order the sambal stingray again.

Specially came to Lola’s café as many of my friends were telling me how good were their brunch. However, do take note that they do not take reservation during weekend. And their brunch ends at 3pm. Me and my friends waited for around 30minutes to get a seat on a weekend. The café is quite pretty however it is rather small. Anyway, I have ordered their chef recommendation - The Avocado Egg's Benedict which is really good! The poached egg was nicely done and the ham is tasty, with a pinch of taste of avocado, it is really perfect. I will recommend this dish to you if you are someone who likes avocado. Otherwise, you may not really like the taste.Verdict – I will definitely be back in future for the desserts and other mains!

Best pie ever!  Smile Mar 13, 2014   (Related Review)

Back to this awesome place for more pies! This time round, me and my friends ordered grasshopper (chocolate mint) and lemon tart which cost $7.50 each. If you ordered two or more pies, a nice vintage wooden plate is given instead of the usual ceramic plate. It looks so pretty and somehow make it more instagram-worthy haha.Anyway, the chocolate mint pie is great! The chocolate is rich and blends well with the mint taste. It isn’t too sweet. It is just perfect to my liking. On the other hand, the lemon tart is abit too sour to my liking. I recommend my friends to this place and they like it a lot due to the ambience there. I think this is indeed my favorite place for pies in Singapore.
