Chocolate banana crepe Cry Dec 29, 2014   (Related Review)

I had been to Marche several times and tried many of their food such as pizza, steak and rosti!
Decided to try their dessert today. For the desserts, they offer ice cream, crepes, cakes and even have a chocolate fondue tongue

As i have not try crepes before, i decided to order A chocolate banana crepe smile
The crepe is made to order and is served warm. It took only a short while for the crepe to be prepared.

For the crepe, the skin is quite crispy but soft in the middle. The filling consists of a few pieces of banana and chocolate Sauce. I feel that they could be more generous in the fillings especially for the chocolate sauce as the cook only drizzled a little chocolate sauce in it ):

Overall, this dessert is not really worth it. I would try other desserts next time!

18 chef Cry Dec 19, 2014

Categories : Singaporean Western | Restaurant | Pasta | Steaks and Grills | Halal | Kids-Friendly

This was my second time dining at 18 chef. The first experience wasnt a pleasant one however i decided to give it a second try this time.

Went with my friends (5 pax) at amk outlet and it was dinner time. There was quite a long queue and we had seats in around 5 minutes! smile

I ordered the student meal which comes with ice lemon tea and a scoop of ice cream. There are various steps to order the meal and its relatively simple to follow!
Mine was pasta with spicy garlic sauce and the main ingredient was chicken sausage. As i'm aware the portion for the chicken sausage was quite small, i had additional top up of ingredients: mushroom and scrambled eggs.

Student meal was $6.40. As i had topped up additional ingredients, the bill was around $8.50.

However i was disappointed with the dish. (once again). I was expecting aglio olio kind of spaghetti but it turned out there was creamy sauce too. The sauce was bland and tasteless and the noodles were not as good as i expected. (Btw there was no options to choose the noodle type too). Overall, the dish was below average. Not worth the price ):

The free ice cream scoop they offered was tutti frutti. Its not bad, tasted abit like paddlepop. smile

Again, for a student meal, i guess one cannot expect too much from it. Perhaps there are other popular choices to choose from, but i will definitely not order the student meal again.

Cakes and coffee Cry Feb 23, 2014

Categories : American

This was my first time trying Spinelli Coffee. Decided to have order some dessert and cup of coffee with my friends.

Carrot cake @4.80

This carrot cake was a disappointment. The cake was too dry and it tasted quite bland. The cream cheese tasted more like whipped cream. Sad to say, it was one of the worst cakes i ever tried sad

Hazelnut Choco spin @$6.50 (large)

This drink consists of espresso coffee, hazelnut and milk. As this cafe specialize in coffee, i had greater expectations. However, the drink was too sweet and there was too much milk in it, which was not to my liking.

Overall, i still prefer other bistro joints such as coffeebean or starbucks!

Soursop Snowice Cry Feb 08, 2014

I have been to this shop several times for their dessert and find their desserts are quite nice, esp the pumpkin cake and mocha snow ice lol

Decided to order a soursop snowice as i had not tried it before. However, i was disappointed with it. The ice was merely milk and tasted like condensed milk. I had thought the ice would have soursop flavour :/ There are only a few pieces of soursop around the snowice. For $5, it was not worth it.

Grilled Chicken chop  OK Dec 30, 2014

Categories : Middle Eastern/Mediterranean | Café | Ice Cream and Gelato

At Mado Cafe, it offers ice cream as well as main dishes with a hint of Turkish flavour in their international cuisine.

Mado cafe has two areas for dining, indoor dining and outdoor dining.
We decided to go for indoor dining as there is aircon and probably more comfortable.

Looking at the extensive menu, i decided to order a grilled chicken chop with side dish: french fries and salad. The chicken chop is grilled to perfection, the skin is extremely crispy and the meat is tender, soft and moist. It tastes delicious as i love the spice and marination of the chicken. The brown sauce that comes with it complements the chicken really well, hence i do enjoy this meal.

The side dishes are pretty average. However, the main star(chicken) makes up for it. smile

Overall, i will come back to try their ice cream too!
