Soya Ice cream Smile Nov 28, 2014
Categories : Desserts and Cakes

I love mr bean ice cream as it is soya based and the cone is really nice too. Way different from macdonalds ice cream cone! The soya ice cream is not too sweet or milky and the serving size is just right!

Mr bean is one of the ice cream with the lowest sugar and fats content in the market. It contain only 9.50g of sugar and 4.79g of fats per serving (100g). (Source from Mr Bean website)
Great for any time of the day!

Highly recommended if you had not try it yet! There are mr bean coupons too and the coupons are valid till 30 November.

Fresh Seafood Smile Feb 23, 2014
Categories : Japanese | Multi-Cuisine | Seafood

I had been to PasarBella many times but didn't try their food before. There are many stalls selling a wide range of different cuisines. Ocean of Seafood is at the corner of PasarBella. It is a sushi bar which serves a whole range of fresh and high quality seasonal seafood from around the world.

The ambience is really great and cozy, with dimmed lights. It has a standing sushi counter, counter seating, and table seating. The table seating is more suited for the family or if you are with a group of friends. However, the perks of counter sitting is that you can watch the chefs slice and prepare the delicacy food!

Service wise, as i went there around 7pm on a weekend, it was quite crowded. However, the staff were quite friendly and approachable lol

Menu offering a variety of sushi, maki and sashimi!

Chawamushi @ $7.
The chawamushi has different ingredients and not as salty as other japanese restaurants. It is quite soft but a little dry though.

Spider maki (soft shell crab) @$7
This is incredibly nice! I love how crispy the soft shell crab is, rolled together with the mayonnaise and cucumber, simply delicious! lol

Pan fried Salmon head.
This salmon head is ordered from outside, not from the menu. It smelled really nice and the meat is really soft and tender.

Large oyster @ $8.
Ordered 4 of these oysters. There are small ones available too, ( 6 for $21)
The oysters are really large and fresh! Using the toothpick to separate the oyster from the shell and squeezing some lemon juice on it, then you can enjoy the oyster by slurping in your mouth . Indeed the freshest oyster i ever tried. lol

Tokujyou Chirashi (special sushi item on a rice bowl) @ $47.

This rice bowl consists a wide range of goodness, which includes a variety of sashimi (salmon, tuna, scallop), squid and rice at the bottom. The sashimi is incredibly fresh, sliced perfectly such that you can enjoy the taste and smoothness of the sashimi lol

The bill came to about $135++ for two persons.

Overall, Ocean of seafood is indeed a high end restaurant which serves for highest quality sushi and sashimi. Although it is pricey, the food and experience there is definitely worth it. lol

Decent meal  OK Feb 23, 2014

I had dined at fish & co many times and had great experiences there. Decided to have a late lunch/ early dinner with my friends at Fish & Co at around 4pm. As it was before 6pm, There were quite a few attractive value meals: One main course, salad buffet and a drink priced at $14.95++ .
The restaurant was not crowded at that time hence the ambience was relaxed and nice. However i feel that the seats for table for 4 was quite small , therefore if we were to order appetizers, there will not be sufficient space to place all our food :/

i decided to order the student promo New york fish and chips

New york fish and chips @ $9.75 nett

Appearance wise, the portion was quite big with a generous serving of fries, The battered fish was golden brown and fried to perfection. The meat was really soft and tasty! There was also parmesan cheese in the meat itself. Personally, i do not like the cheese taste in the fish though, will stick to ordering the original fish and chips next time! The fries tasted great too with the tartar sauce lol

Overall, the student promo was value for money as the meal was less than $10 lol

Matcha Mr Bean drink Smile Feb 23, 2014

Mr bean is the leading chain of soyabean drinks in singapore today. It serves soyamilk, pancakes and even have soya ice cream!
Matcha Azuki Ice Blended

Matcha Azuki Ice Blended

Matcha Azuki Ice Blended @ $3.30

Being a fan of matcha, i decided to try this matcha soyamilk. This ice blended drink consists is made up of soyamilk and matcha powder topped with azuki beans. I do not realy like azuki beans as i feel that it is quite sweet. Therefore i replaced it with pearls. This refreshing drink has the combination of soyamilk and green tea infused together. However, if there more matcha taste, the drink will definitely taste better. I requested for a 25% sugar level as typically most drinks are very sweet if it is 100% sugar level. Therefore, with the reduced sugar level, it is just nice for me lol

Overall, mr beans ice blended drinks are great for a hot and humid day lol

Beef rice Smile Feb 19, 2014
Categories : Coffeeshop | Zi Char

I am a regular of this Zhi Char stall. I love their onion beef rice, fu yong egg and beef hor fun!

Beef rice with egg @ $5.50 .
Usually it is $5, additional $0.50 for a fried egg.
Personally, i feel that the portion of rice was too big, the serving seemed like it could be shared among two people.
For the beef it is soft and tender, when eaten with the rice and brown sauce, it is really yummy! lol
Usually, i will order an egg to go with the beef rice. Otherwise, it will be quite plain.
