All day breakfast Smile Dec 19, 2014

Wild honey is one of the popular brunch spot and it offers all day breakfast. I had heard many great reviews about this place and decided to try with my friends! It has two outlets, Mandarin gallery and Scotts Square.

I decided to order the Parisienne as it is one of the recommended dishes. It comes with french toast with fillings (ham and cheese) and two sunny side eggs. The toast together with the eggs really complement well and its quite a big portion!

Overall, i love the ambience and service at Wild Honey. Although its quite expensive, but its totally worth it for a great breakfast meal at any time of the day smile

18 chef Cry Dec 19, 2014

Categories : Singaporean Western | Restaurant | Pasta | Steaks and Grills | Halal | Kids-Friendly

This was my second time dining at 18 chef. The first experience wasnt a pleasant one however i decided to give it a second try this time.

Went with my friends (5 pax) at amk outlet and it was dinner time. There was quite a long queue and we had seats in around 5 minutes! smile

I ordered the student meal which comes with ice lemon tea and a scoop of ice cream. There are various steps to order the meal and its relatively simple to follow!
Mine was pasta with spicy garlic sauce and the main ingredient was chicken sausage. As i'm aware the portion for the chicken sausage was quite small, i had additional top up of ingredients: mushroom and scrambled eggs.

Student meal was $6.40. As i had topped up additional ingredients, the bill was around $8.50.

However i was disappointed with the dish. (once again). I was expecting aglio olio kind of spaghetti but it turned out there was creamy sauce too. The sauce was bland and tasteless and the noodles were not as good as i expected. (Btw there was no options to choose the noodle type too). Overall, the dish was below average. Not worth the price ):

The free ice cream scoop they offered was tutti frutti. Its not bad, tasted abit like paddlepop. smile

Again, for a student meal, i guess one cannot expect too much from it. Perhaps there are other popular choices to choose from, but i will definitely not order the student meal again.

waffles with ice cream Smile Dec 19, 2014

This was my first time trying creamier! I had heard plently of reviews about this cafe and had seen many photos on social media too. Hence my friends and i decided to try out their famous waffle and unique ice cream flavours!

The nearest mrt station was bradell and its quite a short distance from the mrt station. Approximately 6-10 minutes walk. The cafe was under a void deck which was near the road side, with plently of shophouses beside it.

We reached there around afternoon (12pm) and there were a lot of people! Poeple of all ages were dining in the cafe, not just the typical teenagers you see at every other cafe. Probably due to its outlet in the heartland of the neighbourhood smile

We placed our orders first and after we found a seat, we will inform them and they will start to prepare the waffles on the spot. The ice cream flavours are really interesting! Some of the premium ones were pistachio, thai milk tea, earl grey lavander etc. The earl grey lavander was really fragrant and cool!

I ordered waffle with pistachio ice cream @ $9.70. The waffle looked like the KFC waffle but definitely tasted better. However, i feel that the waffle was abit too hard and as the serving was 2 waffle, it was quite filling and i was abit sick of it.

Overall a great experience and i feel the unique ice cream flavours are what makes the customers coming back for it smile

Hong kong pastry Smile Nov 30, 2014

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Bakery

This Yuen Long hong Kong pastry shop is popular and offers a wide variety of hong kong pastries such as lao po bing (wife biscuit), egg tarts, char siew bun, salted tau sar piah and many more!

A long queue at the shop caught my attention, hence being a typical sporean, i decided to try too!

I bought the egg tart for $1. It is warm as it just came out from the oven. This egg tart is indeed delicious! The crust is flaky and buttery, with the egg custard tangy and not overly sweet. like

Mala Hotpot OK Nov 28, 2014
Categories : Sichuan | Steamboat/Hot Pot

This was my first time trying the mala hotpot. This was recommended by my colleague. The minimum number of items to order was 6 and there are a wide variety of food to choose from. Basically, you will take the ingredients and the chef will cook everything in a wok, depending on the level of spicyness you desire.

There is a list stating the items, weight and how much it will cost. However, i feel that most customers will not deliberately notice the list pricings as it is far too troublesome, instead they will just take whatever they wish to eat.

We ordered 4 veg and 2 meat ( luncheon meat and chicken breast). We waited for quite long (10-15min) although it was 3pm. (not peak hour)

The food tasted alright and not as spicy although we ordered medium spicy.

Overall, for taste wise, it was average but worth a try! Good for sharing too.
