Pizza Hut - Hawaiian Smile Aug 22, 2013
Categories : Pasta | Halal

A personal favorite of mine, the Hawaiin flavor pizza, which I'm sure most people love. It was amazing as usual, with the bits of pineapple juice bursting in your mouth as you chew into each slice, coupled with the ever so succulent chicken ham and melted cheesy goodness. Simple ingredients, yet so tasty! Would have been better with more even distribution of ham because sometimes I feel like I'm just biting into flour.

Price: $8.30

Cafe Mosaic international buffet Smile Aug 20, 2013

Categories : Fusion | Café | Hotel | Kids-Friendly

Went for the UOB card member 1-for-1 dinner buffet and was treated with an international fare of fresh goodies.
The seafood section had oysters, salmon, mussels and prawns, and were all relatively fresh. It had me going back for several more servings. The sushi was the same tamago, corn, crabstick and maki varieties. There was a steak and vegetables grilling teppanyaki section where you get to watch their chefs cook your choice of greens and meat. The main course section was the real treat with its cod fish and sambal prawn menu, amongst many other local style items. The dessert bar, however, was a bit of a disappointment because of the lack of creativity in their sweets. The cakes and mousses tasted too sweet as well.

TCC Wafu beef Spaghetti OK Aug 19, 2013

Wafu beef spaghetti

Wafu beef spaghetti

Price: $20+

I'm a frequent customer of TCC simply because their pastas are not bad. This time, I tried the Wafu beef spaghetti and found that it was really good. The beef slices were a little too tough and dry, but thankfully they served the pasta with sufficient sauce, which made up for the dryness. The sauce had a rich mushroomy taste that greatly enhanced the flavor of the dish.

Not the best pasta in the menu but good enough!

Epic Malaysian food fare Smile Aug 19, 2013

Malaysian food

Malaysian food

Brought my Taiwanese friend around Singapore and treated her to a feast of Malaysian/singapore's most famous and traditional foods. At RWS Malaysian food street, one gets to sample a variety of local delights without the hassle of traveling all over the country!

We spent a total of $80 for this meal for the following dishes:

1) Kampung nasi lemak (halal)
It was really good! We ordered the normal set, which was served with otah, and the chicken set, with chicken wings. The chilli was one of the best I've tasted and the fried chicken was fresh and super tender. The otah was good as well.

2) Klang bak kut teh
Boiled to perfection, each bowl of bak kut teh was brimming with rich herbal aroma and soft, chewy pork ribs that leaves one craving for more after just one taste of the soup.

3) Straits of Satay
Kind of average satay that can be found at most hawkers.

Overall, it was a hearty meal and definitely a place I will visit again, albeit the exorbitant prices.

Lychee snow ice

Lychee snow ice

LYCHEE SNOW ICE 荔枝雪花冰
This is a shop in Hougang mall that sells traditional Chinese desserts and desserts that originate from taiwan, for example, the ever so popular and delicious snow ice!
I usually order chocolate nata de coco or the green tea red bean one, but today I decided to try the lychee flavor!
It was not to my liking because the lychee tasted quite artificial and the flavor burst balls were a little too sour.

Price: $3.50
