A place to chill  OK Sep 22, 2013
Categories : Halal

Me and my bf decided to rest awhile after walking for a long distance and we ended up in this cafe in chinatown point. We ordered a venti mocha frap and a piece of carrot to share.

The mocha frap was quite nice and we could taste the aroma of the coffee and the frap was quite smooth and nicely done. As for the carrot cake, it is not really nice and the cake was kinda "rough" and dry and i would not order this cake again and would not recommend it as it is really not worth the $5+ you are paying for.

Dinner  OK Sep 22, 2013

My Boyfriend and I went for dinner at about 6pm and the store was still kinda empty but people started flooding in and the store was packed and some were starting to Q.

Though this shop specializes in 鱼头炉, we decided to give it a miss as we were afraid we couldn't finish. We also some zhi char style food. We order sambal fried rice , hor fun , 咸蛋排骨 and thai style chicken.

The sambal fried rice was nice and i'm kinda particular about the “火"in the fried rice. This taste really bring out the aroma of the fried rice and the fried rice here is relatively well done in terms of the 火 taste . However, i think that the sambal fried rice is not spicy enough! A little bit more of the sambal chilli will make the fried rice perfect.

As for the hor fun , i personally do not really enjoy eating it as i feel that they added too much 黑酱油 to it. However, my bf enjoys eating it. I guess it's not that bad afterall and it may just be that it is not to my liking.

咸蛋排骨 was delicious but the sauce is not evenly distributed as i ate a whole big piece which is without the sauce. It would be great if they can be more generous with the sauce and ensure that every piece of the pork is coasted with the sauce. Nevertheless , it is still yummy!

Thai Style chicken is really a normal dish and the taste is really like the typical kind of thai style dish from other places. Hence, if you are thinking hard of what you want to order and there is too many on your to try list, maybe you can give this dish a miss.

Fishball noodle set  OK Sep 16, 2013
Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Noodles

This stall has several outlets around the island and is always a choice when it comes to a quick meal. I had a quick late dinner and ordered a fishball noodle set( ~ $4) and the set consist a cup of coffee and a bowl of fishball noodle. The fishball noodle serving not not really huge and the fishball was not really fresh. Comparing the standard of the fishball noodles to the other outlets , this may need some improvement to the quality of the food .

Fast food?? Not really fast  OK Sep 13, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Fast Food | Halal

I accompanied my bf for a late dinner yesterday night and we decided to go to LJS thinking that it's fast food and my bf is starving. However, fast food is not fast at all. There is only one counter that is open and we Q for a long time. When we reach the Q was about 2 people in front of us and by the time we finish buying the Q is already super long and there were about 9 people Q-ing.
Finally we got our food and the taste is just like the other branches, nothing fantastic to talk about. My bf ordered the 3 piece chicken meal while i had a chocolate cream pie. His chicken tasted the usual and mine was a little too soft and not really to my liking ( not too sure if it's supposed to be that soft or the fridge is not working well). Maybe i will try out the choco cream pie at some other outlets next time.

Lunch OK Sep 13, 2013
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong

Went for lunch at xin wang and i ordered yuzu green tea and pork chop burger while my other friends ordered horfun , baked rice and noodles. The total bill for 6 of us adds up to about $80+ and we gort a complimentary tou hua ( free if you bill adds up to $ 50 and u pay by DBS card).
The taste was ok and the yuzu green tea is nice. Hoever the waiting time was quite lone. My burger was the first to be served and the rest of the food took quite a long time to come, esp the baked rice. All of us have finished eating our food when the baked rice is served.
A suggestion for them would be to speed up on the serving time as it was lunchtime and there wasn't really much orders, thus i don;t see why they take so long to serve. sad
