Lunch OK Sep 13, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong

Went for lunch at xin wang and i ordered yuzu green tea and pork chop burger while my other friends ordered horfun , baked rice and noodles. The total bill for 6 of us adds up to about $80+ and we gort a complimentary tou hua ( free if you bill adds up to $ 50 and u pay by DBS card).
The taste was ok and the yuzu green tea is nice. Hoever the waiting time was quite lone. My burger was the first to be served and the rest of the food took quite a long time to come, esp the baked rice. All of us have finished eating our food when the baked rice is served.
A suggestion for them would be to speed up on the serving time as it was lunchtime and there wasn't really much orders, thus i don;t see why they take so long to serve. sad

Handmade Pau OK Sep 10, 2013
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Hawker Centre | Dim Sum

This Store sells handmade pau and other dim sums.I was hoping that the skin of the pau will be softer than the usual factory made ones, but i think it is alomost the same. I am not too sure if it is because i tabao-ed it back and kept then in the box for too long. Taste was quite normal and not really that fantastic. It is a little on the expensive side also because the small pao is really SMALL but i did not managed to take a picture of that. But the small pau is not even 1/2 the size of the big pao as seen in the picture. I bought 2 big ones and 3 small ones and it cost me $5++, not really very worth it. I may consider if i wana buy from them again.

Cheap Sushi  OK Sep 10, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

This stall sells cheap sushi at only $0.50 each and there are quite a variety to choose from. Me and my mum bought a total of 10 sushi a box of inari and a box of inari with stuffing.
Overall the taste was ok and given the price, it is considered to be value for money. For all the items we bought, it only cost us $ 11 in total and we were so full and still had a few inari left over ( we were too full) .
A suggestion to the stall might be to consider packing the inari into smaller serving eg. 3 in a box instead of 6 in a box so that we can get to try different variety.

Food to Share  OK Sep 10, 2013
Categories : Food Court | BBQ

I bought a total of 4 chicken wings and 15 stays for 4 of us to share. Both the dished were quite nice and the satay sauce blends really well with the satay. The price is also considered to be reasonably priced. The total amount was $16.50, however the staff there took a really long time to get the amount right. The first time she collected the money with adding in the chicken wings and she even had to ask for help from her colleagues to calculate for her. But her colleague was not really good in maths either. She collected $20.50 from me initially and then she recalculated and realised she calculated $4 extra. shockedshocked I think they shld seriously brush up on their maths. Lucky it was the odd hours and there was not much people in the queue. I am quite pleased with the food and the only thing i hate is the maths part. So if you are planning to buy from this place, i suggest u do ur own rough calculations lol

Dinner @ Xin Wang HK Cafe  OK Sep 08, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong

Me and my boyfriend had our dinner at xin wang as i was really hungry and there aren't much people Q-ing.
We ordered two Yuan Yangs and he ordered a black pepper beef baked rice while mine was beef hor fun.
I ordered Beef hor fun thinking that it would take a faster time to cook but my bf baked rice came first shocked .
Overall it was quite tasty but the beef in both dishes is a little hard, not too sure if it's a little overcooked.
Lastly we ate the peanut butter and condensed milk thick toast and was nice.
The dinner experience here is good considering that the time taken to serve the dish is quite fast and the taste was alright too and the hor fun is to my liking ( apart from the beef).

A plus point to dining here is that you get to enjoy the wifi here.smile
In total we spent abot $30+ for dinner.
