Lotza little bites..  OK Dec 12, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

Tsubohachi was recommended by my bf's fren. Since it was a friend gathering, rather than a "food appreciation" session, I went there without much expectation. It turned out to be quite a pleasant dining experience, with lotza varieties and reasonable pricing. In fact, I went back there for my own gals gathering too. =)

The menu contains many pictures to help you to decide on the many varieties... I like! Coz I'm someone more visual and will be attracted to the pictures, rather than reading those fasincating names of the dishes, which I have no idea what they means.. The usual "problem" when I visit those high class fine dining resturants..

Hungry already? Yeah.. food "served" right up!

Salmon Sashimi

The salmon sashimi was good! Look at THAT thickness! The chef was definitely generous ^_^

Saikoro Steak Set

Another favourite dish of mine. The beef was cubed to contain its juiciness and tender. Something to take note, finish the dish while it's hot. The beef will be "overcooked" if left on its own since it is served in hot pan. Dun waste the effort of the chef, so finish your food and dun forget the "dao gay" ( bean sprouts)!

Mushroom Hot Pot

The boys loved mushroom, and so we ordered this. As the name suggested, the pot had all kinds of mushrooms such as golden mushrooms, shitake mushrooms etc

Potato Mentaiko

This was superb! Must order! Twice I went there, twice the group made a re-order for this. Basically, it's potato, cheese and mentai. I cant remember the pricing, but definitely not expensive, probably around $5? I love good & cheap food!

Kanioshi Sushi

I liked this too! Simply, it was kani (crab) mayo sushi. It served as a good alternative to just normal rice. We need the rice to make sure we were full mah...

Yakitori Platter (10 pcs)

One of the highlight here is the skewers. It is rather expensive if you order them one by one, so we ordered the platter plus some other that we would like to try.

I rather like the one with bacon and aparagus, whereby the saltiness of the bacon was mellowed by the crunchy apargaus. The bacon with golden mushrooms was nice too. Hmm, was it the bacon that I liked? Hmm..

The meat selection was also not bad, the chicken was rather tender, although the pork was kinda tricky to chew.

Donut is still donut... OK Dec 12, 2013
Categories : American | Bakery

Had heard/seen Krispy Kreme from friends, news feed in facebook since its opening. Personally, I dont have a thing for donuts and definitely not keen on the long queue. Surprisingly, on a friday evening, 1 month after its opening, there was no queue when I was there at Orchard to run some errands.

And so, I got myself a half dozen, which cost close to $18. Was a bit taken back by the hefty price tag, it was almost $3 each. I thought it would be cheaper to buy half dozen, but no, still charge individually. Therefore, if you are like me, just buy 1 to try bah..

Flavors that I got: Peanut Butter, Cookie Crunch, Red Velvet, Cookies & Creme, Chocolate Dream Cake, Almond All Over

Critics for the donuts? Dun scold me, but they were really just donuts. The sweetness I think still within my threshold, which is probably considered high for most people. Great variety of topping, but can be found in other donut joints. Slightly more crispy, but not impressive. Was expecting more lor.. >.<

Breakfast anyone?  OK Nov 30, 2013
Categories : Australian / New Zealand | Café

Looking at the menu, I would say it was quite a struggle to order... everything seemed so expensive... Sigh.

But since we were having brunch, it was considered 2 meals at a time, so we can afford slightly higher end stuff. Heh, we are good at self hypnotizing. keke

Jones English Breakfast - $22
Eggs Poached, Fried or Scambled with Jones Sausage, Slow Roasted Tomato, Sauteed Mushrooms, Bacon and Sourdough Toast

I ordered this because it came with lotza varieties! In fact, I think this can be shared between 2 persons if you are not too hungry. Particularly, I adored the scambled egg & the mushrooms.. yummy!

Jones Wagyu Beef Burger - $26.50
Roasted Tomato, Rocket Salad & Cheese with Jones Balsamic Onion Jam

My bf ordered this because the word "Wagyu" was simply too tempting... Hehe.

The portion was big and the burger was okay. In fact, I like the "orangish" sauce in the background that went very well with the wedges.

Overall, the dishes are pretty decent, taste wise and presentation, albeit expensive. Magazines are provided, so you can savour breakfast and cakes, while enjoying a good article. Nice way to spend a weekend afternoon indeed!

Pizza delivery on a raining day? OK Nov 27, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Italian | Pasta | Halal

Hmm, let's see what we got here..

Hey, I dun remember seeing the "Hot Deal" offers in the website...

The "Hot Deal" is definitely a good offer. Just $7.80, you will get a pan pizza plus a drink. Top it off with another $2 to get garlic cheese onion rings. Since we were not really hungry, we decided to get 1 Hot Deal 1 and 1 Hot Deal 2.

Everyone's Favourite ~ Hawilian Pizza

Extravaganzza Pizza

The pizzas were good, with generous serving of cheese!

Thai Food OK Nov 27, 2013
Categories : Thai

I happened to be in Bugis area (Liang Seah Street to be exact) and my fren recommended this Thai resturant to me. In case you are not aware, this is opened by a TCS Host aka Pornsak. Beside to satisfy my idol chasing crave, I thought, why not Thai food for a change? Keke

It's rather a small place and easily filled up with hungry diners during the lunch hours. Food wise, selection is not a lot but fair enough. We ordered a few dishes to share among the two of us..

Stir Fried Pork with Garlic - $8.90

Very home-styled, no misses but nothing spectacular neither...

Lemongrass Chicken (3 pcs) - $7

This was more unique, with a very strong aroma of lemongrass, reminded me of my spa session. Haha

Deep Fried Tofu with Thai Sauce - $4.90

This was cheap and good. The tofu was crispy outside and smooth inside. Coupled with the sweet and sour sauce, nice!

Sticky Rice Mango - $8.80

This got to be my favourite. If I'm to revisit, I will definitely order the sticky rice mango again. Hee
