2D1N Soju Bang OK Nov 29, 2014
Categories : Korean | Restaurant | Buffet | Korean BBQ

The only thing that stopping me from eating so much meat is the cost. It's so expensive to eat grilled meat in Singapore. And in some places, a plate of meat with a pathetic portion can be as much as $30, expensive yet not filling.

But wait......

Good news for ME & you! *skip in the air*

2D1N serves korean grilled meat at affordable cost! Just pay S$20+ per pax for free flow grilled meat, seafood, vegetables, cooked food, fruits, drinks etc. I went to 2 or 3 outlets (including its sister resturant, Ssikkek Korean BBQ) and apparently the charges were not the same (all in the range of S$20+), which could be due to the different timing and venue. Anyway, S$20+ for free flow of meat is a super good deal!

ROARRRRrrr......

Oops.. I mean free flow of beef, pork, chicken in different parts/marination. Bulgogi, beef short plate, pork ribs, pork collar, bbq chicken, you name it.

The meat here were rather fresh and the staff would keep refilling. Thumbs up!

Seafood, Salad, Vegetable

The service here is superb also. The staff will frequently help you to change the aluminum foil. The only bad thing is the place is rather small, and you probably smell like bbq food when you step out from the restaurant.

Oh ya before I forgot, because the crowd will start pouring in before the opening hours, remember to record your name on the booklet at the entrance. Dun just wait around!

Poteato OK Nov 29, 2014

Categories : Café | Brunch

To order, just proceed to the counter. All prices are inclusive of GST & service charge. I cant remember when's the last time that I just need to pay what I see in the menu. So, it felt real good, not having the need to do mental calculation of the final bill. I hate surprises when it comes to making payments!

Water (both hot & cold) was also placed at the side, for self serving. Fuss free! But we still ordered drinks anyway. =p

Iced Peach Lychee - $5.60

Hot Honey Lemon Tea - $4

I love my peach lychee but husband's lemon tea tasted a bit weird. Finally, I made a better choice than hubby! Woo hoo!

Sweet Potato Fries - $6.20

The sweet potato fries was served in a brown paper bag, cute & creative! It gave the idea of overflowing fries. Haha

But it was not just cute, but tasted real good too! A M-U-S-T order, because it was so addictive. Sweet and crispy, especially when it served hot! Dun wait for it to turn cold lah, a hot /warm item is of course best eaten when at its right temperature.

Louisiana Pork Ribs - $18

Another yummy item on the menu! The pork ribs was thick and juicy , finger-licking good! And it came with my new found love - garlic curry sauce and my all time favourite, potato wedges. I was a happy girl. ^_____^

Bear Bites OK Nov 29, 2014

Categories : Taiwanese | Chinese | Café | Stall / Kiosk | Burgers and Sandwiches

Cute bear paw bun, wow! How to resist?

I saw this being advertised on the TV and decided to check this out with a friend. According to the TV program, Bear Bites originated from Taiwan, even the buns are made in Taiwan and air-flown to Singapore, seems authentic enuff! *Beaming with anticipation*

The place is not big and is outdoor (opposite Toast Box), so can you imagine dining under the hot sun in the afternoon. We were practically trying to finish the food in lightning speed! I guess it's a better choice to tabao/pack away if you are coming here for lunch. Anyway, here probably can only accommodate about 10plus people, not big in the first place.

We ordered the chicken set which is $7.80 that comes along fries and bottled polka drinks. Pay an additional $1 for cheese fries. Sigh, I wish they have more "Taiwanese" drinks like bubble teas or Aiyu. Bottled polka is such a spoiler! >.<

Frankly, I was really disappointed with the food. Other than its cute appearance which will look good in pictures, I cant really say what's good. I ordered the brown sugar bun which tasted like normal bun, the chicken was not crispy and the fries was nothing close to mention.

Before coming here, I have considered to order both the savory bun and the sweet bun (flavoured bun with gelato), and even thought of packing away some for my hubby and friend. However, since the chicken didn't turned out crispy when I was dining there, I reckoned that it would be worse if I packed away.

Long story cut short, food was really normal, but considering the price, I guess it's still worth a try. Just dun go there with high expectation like me. Sobzzz..

Pique Nique OK Nov 29, 2014
Categories : Desserts and Cakes | Burgers and Sandwiches

A pretty cafe that I visited quite a while ago with my friend. Couldn't say much about the food, which was decent but not impressive.

Classic Benedict - $12

My friend's order. To begin with, I'm not a fan of hollandaise sauce and egg benedict. Tried a mouthful to know the taste..... mmmm, mediocre. Let's move on.

Shinjuku Incident - $11.50

Innovative name but tasted just like a normal burger although the egg yolk looked so tempting. Must be my 'super' photography skills. Keke

Tokyo Connection - $9.50

In layman terms, chicken meat burger. This tasted the best out of the 3 savory dishes.

A pity that we did not have a chance to try the desserts, which Pique Nique is more known of. Oh well, it's just like going to MacDonalds and order milk tea which is not the signature dish. I think I should re-visit Pique Nique to try their desserts which are so eye-feasting before I can give them a fair critic.

Krispy Kreme OK Nov 29, 2014
Categories : American | Bakery

I got myself a half dozen, which cost close to $18. Was a bit taken back by the hefty price tag, it was almost $3 each. I thought it would be cheaper to buy half dozen, but no, still charge individually. Therefore, if you are like me, just buy 1 to try bah..

Flavors that I got: Peanut Butter, Cookie Crunch, Red Velvet, Cookies & Creme, Chocolate Dream Cake, Almond All Over

Critics for the donuts? Dun scold me, but they were really just donuts. The sweetness I think still within my threshold, which is probably considered high for most people. Great variety of topping, but can be found in other donut joints. Slightly more crispy, but not impressive. Was expecting more lor.. >.<
