Beef Bibimbap - $13.80

Felt kinda cheated for this as there were only a few sliced of beef, with sprouts and cabbage and an egg yolk.

Grilled chicken with choices of 2 sides - $16.80

On the contrary, the portion for western food was much bigger! Besides a decent portion of chicken, the sides were so generous that we cant even finished them. Hey, but there is the option of taking just 1 side at a slightly cheaper price.

With just a $6 top up, we can also opt for a half pint Hoegaarden, including the flavoured one! Nice!

Food were pretty normal, but I guess it still serves the purpose of providing varieties, especially when you and your company couldn't settle for an unanimous decision on the type of cuisine. The place is rather spacious so finding a table shouldnt be too difficult although the queueing system could have been slightly better. LOL

Serenity Spanish OK Nov 29, 2014

Categories : Spanish | Bars/Lounges | Paella

Sangria Dark - $16

We started the meal with an alcoholic drink, Sangria, which typically contain fruit, rum & wine. It had a strong bitter aftertaste, hinting a slightly strong alcohol content. Then again, it's a classic spanish drink to try if you havent, helped to set the mood for an authentic spanish dinner, especially with the live band performing in the background. ^_^

Tortilla Espanola - $7.80

As a starter, we had the Tortilla Espanola, which is potato omelette. I luv potato mash, chips, fried, wedges, anything so my opinion mostly prob is skewed. It was a simple dish but satisfying, both the taste and to fill the stomach.

Corn Chips - $15

Corn chips to kill the time while we waited for the paella. The sauces were great!

Paella Valen (meant for 2 pax) - $43

Finally, our main was ready! Beautiful dish with the colours. The seafood was fresh and succulent. The only disappointment was the portion, which surely didnt do the price justice.

We spent close to $100 for these dishes, which I thought was kinda overpriced. Great for the experience but failed for the pocket. Haha

All the mains came with 10 side dishes and we got the following side dishes:

1) Sweet Beans

2) Green Vege

3) Kim Chi (how can we not have this in a korean restaurant?)

4) Radish

5) Apple Salad

6) Potato Strips

7) Bean Sprouts

8) Fried Anchovy

9) Fish Cake

10) Some unknown vege which looked like long beans

Beef Bulgogi - $15

This was definitely a must order if you adore beef! There was plentiful of beef slices and mushroom and came with glass noodles too. The sauce was sweet which was good to go with rice. Super value for money. We really had a "difficult" time finishing this little small pot, no bluff.

Short Ribs Soup - $17

The short ribs was very tender, otherwise nothing much to rave about. The soup was very bland, so even though they gave us salt to add to taste, it still tasted bland and oily. Dont think I will ever order this in my return visits.

Steamed Egg - $11

A simple dish and I liked the burnt part. Then again, perhaps this was too much for 2 pax to share. Too much eggs! LOL

Overall, prices are reasonable and food was above expectation. Generous serving of side dishes (free to refill) and not forgetting the friendly lady korean boss with her adorable kids.

Poulet  OK Nov 29, 2014

Categories : French | Restaurant | Desserts and Cakes | Roasted Meat

Gratin Potato & Corn - $4.80

I love potato stuff - wedges, fries, chips, mashed anything, and potato gratin was simply too tempting. Good that it came in a small dish, as potato is high in starch. Although I think more corn & cheese will be better.

Saute Mushroom with Poached Egg - $7.80

The mushroom was okay but poached egg was badly done. The egg yolk was almost well-done and there was water oozling out when I sliced the egg. Ewww...

Half Chicken in Cranberry - $17.80

Poulet means chicken in french, and of coz anyone would have expected better standard here. Unfortunately, the chicken here was not exceptionally good. I would think standard is comparable with Kenny Rogers which is cheaper. Hmm..

Tiramisu - $7.80

The most 'memorable' item we ordered was the tiramisu. It came in a large portion, so do not try to consume yourself. Sharing is a sweeter taste! ^_^

Fix Smile Nov 29, 2014

Run by the same amazing peeps from Grub, we have now another alfresco dining option to 'fix' our cravings! Unlike Grub, the whole place is open concept, meaning no air con hor. Luckily, we came when it just rained, so least there was still some breeze. =p

The place is just next to the pool, so technically, it's a pool side dining! Heehee #cheapthrill

Pretty desserts that I have yet to try coz I was too full. Well, saving it for the next visit!

Our brunch looking colourful & chirpy! What a great way to start the date!

Chicken Tikka Naanwich - $10

This is rather an unique item to find in a western cafe's menu. It has Indian nann & chicken tandoori, japanese ramen style runny egg, coupled with marinated cucumber. Oh right, dont forget the cup of nacho with cheese to add on to the intriguing combination. All these for just $10+? Wow.

Donut (Choose from Salted Egg or Lemon Custard dip) - $7

A different version of your normal salted egg bun dim sum. The little donut was served warm and the size was just nice to pop right into the mouth. Very addictive indeed!

I dont know whether it will taste as nice when leave to cool. But.... but, why should you not gobble it down huh? Keke
