Favourites @ Pepper Lunch Smile Sep 23, 2013

Categories : American | Japanese | Restaurant | Pasta | Steaks and Grills

When I was working near Somerset 313 and was feeling down and exhausted with my never ending pile of work (especially on a Monday with monday blues), I would drop by Food Republic for my favourite Pepper Lunch for lunch. My regular order would be the curry chicken pepper lunch (with cheese) as I like my food spicy. The reason why I love the food at Pepper Lunch is because everything sizzles on the plate! With bite-size chicken pieces that gets cooked on the hot plate, piping hot rice with bits of seasame and curry powder on it and the melted cheese all over, it just warms your heart and makes you feel happy all over again. You can even add $1 for an extra egg to your meal! One of my favourite places! lol

Recommended Dish(es):  Curry chicken

Spending per head: Approximately $8(Lunch)

Chinese Food @ Imperial Treasure Smile Sep 22, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Dim Sum

Had lunch at Imperial Treasure with the family. Imperial Treasure which is a relatively well-known chinese restaurant, that is similar to other chinese restaurants like Din Tai Fung. We went on a Sunday, which is quite crowded at the branch at Tampines 1. We ordered fried rice and prawn dumpling soup noodles to share between the 4 of us, together with red bean pancake as sides and Tang Yuan coated with sesame for dessert.

Fried rice was fragrant and nice, but the noodles were rather normal like any other chinese restaurants. We absolutely love their red bean pancake! Sweet yet savoury, but not a thing for the health-conscious people due to the large amount of oil that goes with it. The tang yuan was good too, a change from the usual tang yuan in soup style.

Delicious food @ Bao Today Smile Sep 22, 2013

Categories : Dim Sum

After looking online for places to eat at Marina Square, we came across this interesting eatery called Bao Today (包今天) - a cute name possibly trying to mimic 包青天 tongue I think my profile did mention that I'm a fan of dim sum, thus we went there to have our lunch! At Bao Today, there is no service charge, so diners will have to tick their orders on the sheet of paper and submit it together with payment at the counter before any food is served.

We didn't have to wait very long for our food, due to the efficient service of the staff. We ordered a steamed chicken glutinous rice in bamboo shoot ($6.80) and a cheesy seafood baked rice ($7.80) to share. I absolutely love the steamed chicken glutinous rice!! lol Generous amounts of tender chicken with yummy glutinous rice. The cheesy baked rice was good too as it was served steaming hot, and with lots of seafood inside. Extremely satisfied and we will go back there very soon!!

Billy Bombers, one of the higher end western dining places do serves some really awesome ice creams lol We were having a friends gathering and was looking for some place to chill after our lunch. We were at The Cathay so we dropped by Billy Bombers for some of their magnificent ice cream! I ordered a banana split sundae which was really good. Would love to go Billy Bombers for more ice cream more often, if I have the money.. since it's rather pricey here mad

Sushi Buffet @ Sakae Sushi Smile Sep 21, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

Sakae Sushi used to be one of the favourite hangouts during the school days, where their sushi buffets would be very popular with large groups of youths. There are 2 kind of sushi buffet at Sakae - one where each person is entitled to only one red and one pink plate; and the other is an All-You-Can-Eat buffet with no restrictions. We chose the All-You-Can-Eat buffet (so that I can eat more of those lovely sashimis lol

The thing I like about Sake's sushi is that they are rather fresh and so is their sashimi. LOVE THE CHAWAMUSHI!! Full and satisfied! lol

Recommended Dish(es):  All-You-Can-Eat buffet

Spending per head: Approximately $25(Dinner)
