The food at Yum Cha is a very good representation of good dim sum. The carrot cake was tasty and yet not too oily. The Cheong Fen had a generous portion of fillings (shrimp/ meat) , and the rolled rice was smooth and not too thick. Also, the soy sauce was not too sweet! The custard bun was pretty good too. Served right out of the steamer, the bun was hot and fluffy. The siumai were very delicious too.

best mochi buns Smile Oct 11, 2013

Mochi Cheese

Mochi Cheese

This is the first time I have ever tried mochi in the form of bread. The exterior of the cheese mochi is like the exterior of bun, mildly crisp and soft at the same time, and the inside is stuffed with glutinous rice and melted cheese giving it a chewy bite like the traditional mochis! The cheese mochi is extremely fragrant. They mochi buns also com in chocolate, sesame, soy and matcha flavour. The sesame mochi taste quite like the cheese mochi, only that the sesame seeds gives the mochi bun an additional crunch!

Fukuichi Japanese Dining Smile Oct 07, 2013

Had dinner at Fukuichi, it's located in a relatively quiet mall. Place was quite crowded when we reached, suggest to reserve before visiting. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and the interior decoration was beautiful. We ordered a salmon maki to share, the salmon is soft to the taste, and is very delicious. The mayonnaise makes the salmon more fragrant, and the addition of the juicy roe makes it perfect. We also shared a dinner set, the fish was awesome. It's fried but juicy, and the sauce makes it very yummy. There's some ginger mixed into the sauce, which gives it a very fragrant smell. One of the best fish I've had in a Japanese restaurant. The tempura was good too, it wasn't too fried and the prawns were very fresh. Enjoyed dinner here! lol

Jap food at Itacho Smile Oct 07, 2013

Itacho is one of my favourite place for Japanese food. We had salmon sashimi, it was very fresh and juicy, and reasonably priced. There's this sushi which sells at $0.40 per piece, it's very tasty, and is a must order. However, each person can only order two of that. I like the fried gyoza paired with sea salt, it has an interesting but awesome taste. The grilled pork handroll is not bad too, there's quite alot of meat in it. My friend had the egg with spicy salmon, I think it's quite average though. We also had the mini eel bowl, it smells very fragrant and is very delicious. However there's only a few pieces. Food here is awesome!

Thai food at Ah Loy Thai Smile Oct 07, 2013

I like the food at the Shaw Tower's outlet and decided to give this a try. Ordered the white basil chicken, it was awesome! Very fragrant and tasty, the bamboo shoots were very crunchy too. Had the french beans with minced meat, the dish was fried just right. The tom yum soup was not bad either, very spicy and there's a generous spread of ingredients in it. Tried the red ruby for dessert, one of the better ones I've eaten in Singapore. Could have been better if the chestnuts were crunchier. Definitely had a good meal! mad
