cheap and good tosai and prata Smile Oct 11, 2013

Tosai

Tosai

Open 24 hours, Jamal Restaurant, serves freshly prepared prata, tosai, and other dishes at a very affordable price. The prata there is fluffy and yet not oily. The curry is light but may lean on the side of being mildly diluted. My favourite is the tosai. Freshly-made when ordered, it is slightly crispy on the exterior and soft and the inside. The combination of the dhal and the tosai is just fantastic. I would recommend this place for cheap and good prata. We ordered 2 plain pratas, 1 tosai, 2 vegetables and a teh tarik for only $4.50! How good is that!!!

Yummy Tau Huay Smile Oct 07, 2013

Lao Ban Tau Huay Original

Lao Ban Tau Huay Original

The LaoBan Tau Huay is not like the conventional tau huay. It is more of a pudding. Lao Ban's tauhuay is very delicious, It is so smooth and silky, coupled with a slight milky and caramel-ish essence, it almost melts in your mouth. My favourite is the original flavor, but it also comes in almond flavour. They also have soy milk which tastes slightly different from the old-school soy milk but equally fantastic. It is totally worth the wait even if you have to queue for it.

Paradise Dynasty Smile Sep 17, 2013

This restaurant is well known for their colourful xiao long baos. Couldn't give that a miss when we visited the place. Ordered one tray of that, and they didn't disappoint. Really yummy for all the flavours! I like the cheese and crab roe ones the most. Had drunken chicken, one of the better rendition of drunken chicken I had. The sauce goes really well with the smooth and tender chicken. We also had chilli dumplings, that was quite ordinary. The beijing dumplings tasted better than the chilli dumplings, and the juice inside the dumplings made it more tasty. The egg fried rice is okay, fragrant but was a little over fried. Had the red bean paste pancake for dessert, that was quite a disappointment. The pancake was overly crispy and there was quite little red bean paste inside. Staff was very attentive and initiative though, refilling our hot tea whenever we're finishing. Overall enjoyed the dining experience! smilelol

Good meesua and zi char! Smile Sep 14, 2013

This place is widely known for its own rendition of meesua. The herbal soup is very thick, meesua is very soft. I like the mixed one, which has the pork kidney, liver and pork meat inside. Especially like the kidney, it's cooked just nice, to the right texture and softness. They also serve good crab bee hoon, one of the better ones I've had. The bee hoon is very tasty, and there's quite a lot of crab served. We also had the clams, very tasty too. For garlic haters, the chef added quite alot of garlic to get rid of the clam smell. The egg and the veggie tasted ordinary to other zi char stalls. The drinks stall also sells soya beancurd, I like the original flavour. They also sell the almond flavoured one. I'm not a fan of almonds but my friend who likes almonds gave quite a good review for it. bowl

best frozen yogurt Smile Oct 30, 2013
i love frozen yogurt and there are many different brands here that are not bad but in my opinion, red mango is by far the best. while it does not offer many flavors, their original truly tastes like natural yogurt, and is very rich in flavor. the texture is extremely smooth, and the servings are very generous compared to most other brands. I personally find that the original yogurt topped with fresh strawberries is a divine combination.
