Good chicken at kenny rogers Smile Oct 28, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Roasted Meat

Visited Kenny Rogers for dinner on a weekend, wasn't too crowded when we reached about 6pm. We were served with complimentary muffins when we sat down, the muffins smelt good and were delicious. There were dried corns in the muffins, which gave it a more aromatic taste. We ordered the half chicken to share, with steamed vegetables and potato salad as our side dishes. The chicken looked very appetizing and was very delicious! It's soft and tender, and the breast meat wasn't too dry. Liked the chicken alot. The steam vegetables was cooked well, the carrots were not too hard. Potato salad was good too, very yummy. Was a great dinner!

I'm a fries lover, and I think that the fries at Everything with Fries are great! The fries come in different forms, thick or thin and I prefer the thick fries as it has a more "potato taste". I decided to try something different though and chose the shoe string fries with sour cream and onion. It has the familiar sour cream and onion taste like those in potato chips. I like it very much, but it's still second to the favourite curry fries. The fries came with the cheese burger that I ordered. The beef patty in the burger is soft and tastes wonderful when accompanied with the melted cheese and the soft bun. The side salad has a little parmesan cheese sprinkled on top, and tastes wonderful too. enjoyed dinner here!

Best takopachi balls in Ion Smile Oct 28, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese

Tried takopachi balls at a few places in Singapore, and this has to be one of the best! It matches the authentic takopachi balls which I had in Japan. The octopus in this takopachi is a bigger piece compared to what the competitors offer. There's these crunchy bits in the takopachi balls which many other takopachi stalls do not have. It gives the balls a better taste and makes it more aromatic. I had the original sauce, and it complements the balls very well, making it even yummier. Given the generous amount of ingredients in the balls, the cost is justifiable too. Must try for all takopachi ball lovers! lol

Dessert at Black Ball Smile Oct 27, 2013
Categories : Taiwanese | Chinese Desserts | Bubble Tea/ Tea

Had black ball a few times, there was a long queue each time I went. This dessert chain offers an interesting mix of ingredients. My favourite is the signature black ball, which comes with yam, sweet potato, red beans, black pearls, grass jelly. All of them come in different degree of hardness and sweetness, and taste very good when eaten together. The grass jelly is very smooth, probably the one which is least sweet. The black pearls and yam balls are chewy, and the red beans are the sweetest.

Be sure to go earlier though, as some of the ingredients tend to sell out at a later time. I tried one with self-selected ingredients, with kidney beans, red beans, nata de coco and ice jelly. Wouldn't recommend the ice jelly, it didnt taste good with the other ingredients. And I would recommend the icy one (with shaved ice), the ice is shaved well, I don't see any chunks of ice inside my dessert bowl. Good and interesting dessert! lol

Manhattan Fish Market Smile Oct 14, 2013
Categories : American | Restaurant | Seafood

Chanced upon the good lunch deal at Manhattan Fish Market and went there with colleagues. You can get two main courses and two soups at 19.90, quite worth it. They served minestrone soup that day, it was very yummy with the sour and spicy taste. Love the soup there! Ordered the grilled fish set, it comes with rice and some greens. The grilled fish was very fresh, it did not have any fishy smell at all. Squeezing some lemon on the fish made it even more delicious. The chilli sauce which came with it was a very good complement. It's not too spicy, and has a little sour taste, really matches the grilled fish very well. The carrots were sweet but a little hard though. tongue
