Indian food Cry Oct 27, 2013

The indian food at Satay by the Bay is not fantastic. While the portion of the cheese tosai was very generous, it was not evenly cooked, with some parts a bit burnt, and the tosai itself leaning on the thick side. The dips were also very diluted. The tandoori chicken was even worse. It was served cold, and the portion was pathetic, where a tiny piece of chicken cost me $7.

I had an ala-carte high tea buffet at bar intermezzo at orchard hotel. The food in general was terrible. It was served in pathetic portions. Although you could order more of the dishes you like, the dishes either took very long to come, or were no longer available. The sashimi was not very fresh, and the chicken wings and spring rolls in the snack platter were very oily. The scones was the only dish that was delicious. The other desserts were lousy, with a weird lingering after-taste. I would not recommend this place, even with the 1-for-1 promotion, it was not value for money.

Vietnamese pho Cry Sep 22, 2013

Had Vietnamese food at Holland Village, order the beef pho. The soup was quite tasty, and they served beansprouts as a side dish for us to add in. Didn't really like the beansprouts as they were quite raw. The pho was very soft and springy, but the beef was hard. Could have been better if the beef was more tender. Would say the pho tasted quite ordinary, was a little disappointed. sad

Peranakan Inn Cry Sep 15, 2013

Categories : Peranakan / Nonya | Restaurant | Curries | Rice

Went Peranakan Inn for dinner. Place was full and we had to wait about 15mins. Ordered dishes and food took another 15-20mins. Out of all the dishes, the ngo hiang was the best, its skin is crispy and the meat tasted really yummy. The ayam siol was not bad either, the sauce was quite yummy. The sambal sotong was okay, very ordinary. However, the other dishes were quite disappointing and came in very small portions. The bakwan kepiting tasted like there was a lot of pepper added to it. I felt they didn't cook the otak enough as it was still very soft. The chap chye sauce was a little blend. All in all, the food here doesn't taste like authentic peranakan food at all, was quite a disappointing dinner. (plus the service wasn't good) sad

Went to roma's deli for lunch, there wasnt much crowd and we were lucky to get a seat during lunch peak hours. We had seafood spaghetti and curry potato baked rice. As it's a vegetarian restaurant, they used mock meat for all their food. No garlic was used too. Seafood spaghetti is one of the better vegetarian spaghetti I've eaten. Curry potato baked rice was a disappointment. Both the rice and the potatoes were too hard. Not worth the money at all. Mushroom soup for starter was great though.
