Chanced upon the good lunch deal at Manhattan Fish Market and went there with colleagues. You can get two main courses and two soups at 19.90, quite worth it. They served minestrone soup that day, it was very yummy with the sour and spicy taste. Love the soup there! Ordered the grilled fish set, it comes with rice and some greens. The grilled fish was very fresh, it did not have any fishy smell at all. Squeezing some lemon on the fish made it even more delicious. The chilli sauce which came with it was a very good complement. It's not too spicy, and has a little sour taste, really matches the grilled fish very well. The carrots were sweet but a little hard though.

Went to Coffee Club for some after dinner dessert. Ordered a strawberry shortcake and muddy mud pie to share. The strawberry shortcake tastes very good! The cake was spongy soft, and it didn't taste too creamy. The strawberries were sweet and complemented the soft cake well! Muddy mud pie was great too! I like the combination of coffee and chocolate ice cream, a little bitter taste amongst the sweetness. I also had the ice chocolate, which was just ordinary. Although it tasted sweet, there wasn't the chocolatey taste. My friend had the Minty Lychee Tea Freeze, which was very refreshing. Not too sweet and it was a good combination of mint and lychee. Definitely would have that the next time!

Was quite crowded when we reached the place on a Saturday night. Compared to other bbq/steamboat places, it's not as hot and stuffy.

We ordered the assorted set which comprises of chicken, pork, prawns, sotong and some veggie. Quite like their concept of BBQ in the centre area and steamboat at the side. The meat was marinated, and tasted very juicy and yummy, especially the pork. The prawns were quite fresh, they did not have the stale taste. I like their chilli sauce (should be home-made), spicy with a slight tinge of sweetness. Goes very well with both the BBQ and steamboat food. The non-meat came in quite a variety, there was white cabbage, some greens, golden mushroom, etc. All looked and tasted quite fresh. I like the tunghoon too, goes very well with the soup. Very satisfied!

Passed by Porn's and decided to give it a try. I ordered the lunch set, comprising of stir-fried chicken with garlic and rice, and a drink. The food smells very good, especially with the company of garlic. The chicken is very soft and tender, and it tastes very yummy! The sauce is very tasteful, not too salty, and it goes very well with the chicken and rice. My friend had the deep fried chicken, it is crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Tastes very good too! We shared a kangkong, the kangkong smells very good but tastes ordinary though. Had a good lunch!

I love the Zi Char at Joo Hing. My favourite dishes are the Prawn Paste Chicken, and the Sambal Sweet Potato Leaves. I am not a fan of friend food but the prawn paste chicken is a 'must have' every time I go. The chicken is served crispy, and fragrant from the prawn paste. It tastes fantastic when dipped in the sambal belachan. The Sambal Sweet Potato Leaves are also a 'must have'. The sambal makes the dish tasty and fragrant and the sweeet potato leaves are cooked to perfection where the stems are still crunchy and juicy. The steamed fish and spinach are also not bad.
