Oyster omelette Smile Dec 14, 2013

fried oyster omelette is priced at $4 here. Surprisingly, there are 7 oysters and they are not small. The oysters are fresh and considered big for such a price. It is worth the price! The fried egg is rather tasty and flavourful. This is not the usual ou jian but in omelette form, still delish. It also goes well with the chilli.

beef tenderloin $24.90
this was quite filling and satisfying. the beef was tender and the salad was well dressed. the mushrooms were quite juicy. the potato au gratin was moist and had a soft velvety texture.

cookies and milk dessert $9.90
i don't think this was worth the price but the combination was unique - ice-cream, milk cherries, peanut butter.

Do give saveur a try if you love french food.

Affordable French food Smile Dec 14, 2013

I had the Poulet roti, half portion is priced at $15.80. I love the mushroom sauce that they used as the base. It may look like it is a lot but you will end up wiping the dish clean of its sauce. The chicken was really tender too even at the breast area. It's one of the better chickens i've had!

Tiramisu $7.80
This is quite a big serving and one person will be unable to finish it. I find it too bitter and watery to my liking.

Check out poulet if you love chicken smile

Ayam penyet Smile Dec 13, 2013

Ayam penyet $4.50
Do not be intimidated by a long queue as the queue moves relatively fast. Service is a little aloof but the food is delicious. I had the ayam penyet (fried chicken) which is recommended on the menu. The chicken was tender, soft enough and skin was very crispy. I also love the crispy bits that went so well with the rice. The curry sauce was spicy enough but I wish they could give more as the rice without the gravy tended to be rather dry (and lumpy). I also love the sambal chilli which was sufficiently spicy.

Delicious Smile Dec 13, 2013

I had the Salted egg yolk pork ribs rice for $6 at around late 4pm to 5pm. I was told to wait for 15 minutes as the chef was eating but as I had company, the wait was still okay. The stall owners were amiable and friendly. When my order came, I could smell the fragrance of the salted yolk. It was served warm and poured over the boneless pork ribs. The pork was very tender and not at all hard. I'll definitely get this again!
