Laksa Smile Dec 30, 2013   (Related Review)

The laksa costs $3 and the laksa gravy tastes rather rich and fresh. The ingredients consist of tau pok, cockles, beansprouts, and thinly sliced fishcakes and they were all fresh too. There is little chilli oil and it's not very spicy. The portion is just right for one pax and is not too little or much. I think the lor mee still tastes better than the laksa here.

black chicken soup with dried scallops $8.90 - This soup is supposed to be very nourishing. The chicken was a little tough but the mushrooms were very soft and juicy.

ginger fried rice $10.90. The ginger taste was distinct and the rice was moist. The waitress helped us to separate the rice into 4 bowls which were too much for 2 people to share.

sambal potato leaves $8.90
the vegetables were soft and the sambal taste was strong and spicy.

pork congee $4.20
The congee was flavourful and the different types of eggs in it made the taste great. The texture was also smooth.

shrimp vermiroll $5.50 was a little disappointing as they were cold and tasted average.

monthly special jade wonton laksa soup $5 was good! The soup was appropriately spicy and the chives wontons were one of the best that I had tasted.

The bowls they gave were a little dirty. Waiting time was around 45 minutes. I'll definitely be back for more smile

Spaghetti aglio olio with broccoli, black mussels and prawns $24.10. The spaghetti was surprisingly good! All the ingredients were very fresh too. The tiger prawns were big, fresh and yummy. There was a bit of chopped chilli padi so it was slightly spicy. The serving plate was quite unique too. The pasta here is worth a visit!

Chicken porridge Smile Dec 29, 2013

The porridge here is quite tasty and flavourful. A big bowl of porridge costs just $3 and they are also generous with the chicken meat which is quite tender and soft. The chicken has no fats or skin so it will appeal to the health-conscious. The porridge is not watery too and has just the right texture.
