Lor mee OK Dec 17, 2013
Categories : Hawker Centre

This bowl of lor mee costs $3. I like how the gravy doesn't have a gooey and starchy texture even when it gets cold. The gravy is quite flavourful though not fantastic. The ingredients given are quite little however. Sometimes the cooking is inconsistent probably because different cooks are involved (sometimes it's a young lady, sometimes it's an old lady as the cook). Try this if you want to!

Nasi lemak Smile Dec 17, 2013   (Related Review)

The nasi lemak is priced at $3.20. I chose kunin fish, chicken wing and fried silver fish. The rice is rather fragrant with a strong coconut taste even though it looks white and plain. The kunin fish is rather big and very well-fried. It is slightly crispy on the outside and the meat is quite tender. The silver fish is not too hard or soft. The chicken wing has a good taste thanks to the batter. Try this if you love nasi lemak.

salmon don
the fat juicy fish roes toppings burst into your mouth with every bite. The salmon sashimi slices were not of top notch quality but enough to satisfy one's cravings. It will be more shiok if the slices were thicker though.

shiok maki gen 1 $16.80
Besides the combination of grilled eel, lightly grilled salmon and fish roe toppings, it was also the yellow sauce that makes shiok maki shiok. I can't tell what sauce it was but it sure was delicious. The grilled salmon melts in the mouth and the combination is just heavenly!

Waiting time was very long - approximately an hour as usual.

Skinny pizza  OK Dec 16, 2013
Categories : Restaurant | Pasta

Pineapple mixed (something) juice. A small cup costs around $7 which was very expensive but it tasted very fresh and quality was there!

Squid ink pizza $26. I felt that the squid was too hard and not cooked perfectly. Even though the pizza was cold, it was delicious. The thin crust reminded me of chips but the prawns were not that fresh. It was quite expensive at $26.

spaghetti aglio olio $22. the gf wanted to have this as she loves aglio olio. This was quite oily but was filled with flavours. The spaghetti were well-cooked too, more towards the hard side than the soft side. At $22, the price is on the high side too.

So good Smile Dec 14, 2013

Shiromaru Matoaji Special $23
This ramen came with a flavoured egg, pork belly cube and bamboo shoots. The pork belly cube was very tender and surprisingly the fats melted in my mouth. The soup was lightly flavoured. Everything fits in nicely. Nothing tasted overpowering and everything makes the right combination. The braised pork belly, pork and egg was the best I ever had. The egg had a light soya taste and I was surprised by how cooked the egg white was yet the egg yolk inside was watery and slightly cooked only. The noodles (hard) were also not too hard. Ippudo is definitely worth a try!
