Laksa Cry Dec 13, 2013

The laksa soup base was very bland and it seemed as though they had forgotten to add in an ingredient. I tried adding chilli paste inside to no avail so they probably did not cook it well or it just tasted that way. It is priced at $4.50 and is reasonable but not worth it as the taste falls below standard. Perhaps this will suit the health-conscious more as I think they did not add much coconut milk in it.

hazelnut milk tea Cry Oct 10, 2013
Categories : Taiwanese | Chinese | Juices

was rather disappointed with my purchase of hazelnut milk tea (Price: about $2.50). The shop front is not appealing but since I was craving for bubble tea and I happened to chance upon this shop, I decided to try it out as I remember Tangs Plaza having an outlet before they renovated and there was usually a queue but I did not get to try it. I ordered my hazelnut milk tea with 30% sugar and it was quite sweet. The hazelnut flavour tasted too artificial just like syrup and I did not manage to finish the whole cup.

Roasted meat rice Cry Oct 10, 2013

A plate of roasted pork meat and duck rice costs $5. For such a portion, it is quite expensive for hawker fare and I can definitely get something better at a cheaper price else where. The meat was not tender at all and was quite oily. The gravy also tasted rather disappointing. There seemed to be something lacking in it. It is a disappointment and I will not purchase this again.

disappointing visit Cry Oct 02, 2013

Taiwan spicy and sour ramen $4
The texture of the gravy is like lor mee's gravy. The ramen noodles seemed overcooked as it was a bit (nua/mushy). The texture was too soft to enjoy it. It was also quite tasteless, lacking in both the spicy flavour and sour flavour sad

Lu Rou Stew Meat Rice $4.50
The taste of the stew meat tasted like canned food. There was no homecooked flavour at all. At $5, it is not worth trying. one good thing about this rice bowl is that the lu rou is not very fatty so is suitable for the health-conscious and those afraid of gaining weight.

Jumbo sausage pasta Cry Oct 02, 2013
Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato

I tried the jumbo sausage pasta which was around $6+. The pasta taste was quite bland and there was not much taste, probably that of hawker centre standard or worse. The jumbo sausage was really jumbo sized though and it was certainly the highlight of the dish. It wasn't that fabulous but if you will like to give it a try, once is enough. I guess it is still better to go for their bubble teas and drinks instead of their food items as these are not what they specialize in (if i am not wrong, this is a bubble tea specialty store).
