My favourite ice kacang!! Smile Nov 25, 2013

This has been my favourite ice kacang store since before the market was renovated. They are very generous with their shaved ice and syrups. You will never see a spot of the ice not soaked in syrups. That what I love about the ice kacang from this store. Even if you take away, they will pack the container real tight with shaved ice and fill it up with syrups. Never fail to keep you cool on a hot day!!

I also ordered their abalone soup to try as their picture is very enticing. However it does not taste as good as how it is advertised. The abalone soup’s serving is also very small, similar to their abalone noodles. sad The soup is piping hot but the taste is not up to my expectation after the long hours of cooking. It was not flavorful and the fish maw, abalone and scallop are overcooked!! Definitely not worth the price… huffy

Whenever I run out of ideas for lunch, I will head down to bishan to get their Tori Q set meal. The set comes with rice, 2 chicken stick, I meat ball stick and 1 pork stick. The rice taste great with the teriyaki sauce and shredded seaweed. This set cost about $6 and it fills your stomach. There are 2 more set choices or you can customise your own set. If there is not enough meat for you in the set, you can always add on other meat sticks…

Over-rated Abalone Noodle Cry Nov 24, 2013

This stall at Race Course Road serves only abalone noodle, there is no normal minced meat noodles like other Lam’s stalls. Although the presentation of the bowl is very big, at $6.50, I would say the portion of noodle served is smaller than what is usually served in local food court. Moreover there is nothing special about their abalone noodle except for two small cubes of abalone and one scallop. The chili in the dry noodle is not fragrant at all and the amount added is very minimal. sad

Roasted Duck Pizza

Roasted Duck Pizza

My favourite pub to go to with my wife. We usually have our friend gatherings there on weekdays. Their famous dish which most people will order will be the roasted duck pizza. Its duck meat on normal pizza topped with special sauce and fried wanton skin. It’s superb for sharing with a group of about 4-6 pax. And it goes rather well for beer. The ambience is great with live band starting from 8pm-12mn. Always feel relaxed chilling in timbre.
