Awesome chili sauce  Smile Nov 24, 2013

After a badminton game at Kampong Glam CC, headed to Golden Mile Food Centre for dinner. I decided to eat something not too oily since it is already very late. Saw this stall that sells Fish Soup and Seafood Soup – 爱发鱼片汤•海鲜汤. I placed an order for white fish mee sua. The soup is very clear and has an aromatic sesame oil and pepper smell. There are fish slices, button mushroom and vegetables of your choice. The fish is fresh and their chili dipping sauce is awesome!! It is very spicy and goes very well with the fish.

Traditional Ja Jiang Mian Smile Nov 24, 2013

Ja Jiang Mian

Ja Jiang Mian

One of the simplest traditional Ja Jiang Mian I have eaten. There is only La Mian, Ja Jiang sauce and shredded cucumber in the dish. You will not meet the crowd if you reach before 7pm. But if you hit the peak hour for dinner, the wait can be rather long due to the small sitting capacity of the restaurant. And there is no waiting area, so you will just have to stand outside the restaurant to wait till someone leaves. Parking can also be a challenge with the limited parking lots around the restaurant.

Klang Bak Kut Teh OK Nov 23, 2013

Leong Kee (Klang) Bak Kut Teh is always bursting with customers during lunch hour. The waiting time is approximately 15 to 20 minutes. I ordered a Bak Kut Teh (all ribs) with extra tau kee (additional $1) and a bowl of rice. This Bak Kut Teh soup is very different from the white and peppery version. It is dark in color and has a strong herbal smell. It tasted a bit sweet and has a little bitterness after taste.

New Donuts in Town Smile Nov 23, 2013

Honey Glazed

Honey Glazed

One of my favourite pastries is donuts. And there is a new donut shop in town. Krispy Kreme just open their first outlet in Singapore. It’s the first time I am trying it and I have fallen in love with it. Of the 6 flavours I have tried, I like the honey glazed one the most. The inside of the donut is not too filling, just the right thickness to go along with the honey glaze. I can see more donut stops coming!!

Great Mango Shaved Ice Smile Nov 23, 2013

Having a mango shaved ice is the best way to chill on a hot day. This stall sells hot and cold traditional desserts. They have many varieties of shaved ice. My favourite is the Mango shaved ice. Its mango flavoured shaved ice topped with mango sauce and cubed mango. It is definitely a must try for mango lovers. The serving is rather big. So if you are there for dessert after meals, do share with someone.

Recommended Dish(es):  Mango Shaved Ice

Spending per head: Approximately $7
