Second Visit ^^ Smile Nov 30, 2013

It is my second visit to Poulet again haha lol

Well, tried their another version of Poulet Roti whereby the sauce is replaced with Cranberry sauce and Mustard. The Cranberry sauce itself alone was pretty flavourful, not too sweet and a tingy sourish. But sadly, I think the original sauce still beats this new version. Tried something new as appetizer and I totally love this one. The combination of feta cheese, tomatoes and sultanas totally beats me. I kept popping in the tomatoes one after another. It was really good and it was a bonus that it was served chilled. ahhh yum yummzzz ^^

Satisfied! I shall make a visit every month to this place especially if I feel like having some healthy roast chicken smile

Expensive version of CBTL OK Nov 30, 2013

Categories : American | Café | Halal | Coffee

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf's more atas restaurant, first started in MBS, is opening more and more branches in the city center. Coffee is as good as normal CBTL. Menu has a good number of varieties.

The waffle was alright, a bit too dense, not fluffy enough. Not the best waffle I have had but not too bad.

The Breakfast platter was quite a disappointment. The bacon was burnt. The tomatoes served was pathetically limited to just two small cherry-sized tomatoes. The sausages tasted bland. Not value-for-money at all, definitely a no-no.

This is my only consolation. Chicken breast was still tender enough. And well nothing goes wrong with tomatoes, making the whole pasta palatable enough! ^^

The food is overall not bad with a few misses for certain dishes.

Substandard Korean food >< Cry Nov 30, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Korean | Restaurant | Kids-Friendly

Went to this Korean place despite hearing bad comments from my friends before only because of the Groupon discount and my liking for Korean food. Thus I thought yeah why not give the place a try then mad

I think I will jump to the conclusion now that the standard here is really way below my expectations. I would never visit the place again. The only commendable point is just that the place has good ambiance at the alfresco seating area.

Had Beef Japchae ($8) and Scallion pancake ($8.50). The former was 95% glass noodles with shreds of capsicum with only a few pathetic beef shreds. The latter was worse, just pancake dough and perhaps some bacon strips could be seen.

Ordered the Army Stew ($32), Bibimbap ($14), Yuzu Chic ($20) as our mains. The stew was alright. Bibimbap was not served in a stone pot and it was cold by the time everything was mixed together. The Yuzu Chicken could not be worse as the chunks of meat were near to tasteless.

Side dishes was pathetically limited with only three sides. There were four of us and the only serving given was surprisingly small that I mistakenly assumed initially that everyone was supposed to have their own set of side dishes separately.

My conclusion, as mentioned, the place has poor standards. Seriously wonder how this place could have survived still so far till now.

This place is quite a new establishment in 313 replacing the old restaurant (it was Blue Mountain Cafe I think). There is a separate menu catered especially for desserts. Being a Matcha fan, I went in with full eagerness to try the desserts out.

Ordered a Macha Kakigori ($8) and Abekawa with Gelato ($8). The former was actually Macha-flavoured ice with Vanilla soft serve plus some side toppings. It was nothing extraordinary except for the fact the toppings included awkwardly a few wolfberry and the Chinese snow fungus. On the other hand the latter was quite a let down. The oven-baked Mochi was too hard to be chewy.

Based on this first dining experience, I think I would not come back to this place again. I might as well go St Marc since it is more reasonably-priced with good standards.

Below expectations sadly Cry Nov 30, 2013

Categories : Café

Was up early for breakfast at Holland Village and not many places were open. Chanced upon this new eating place and was eager to try their breakfast items out chopstick

Ordered their Egg Benedict ($12.50) and Egg Florentine ($15) plus two Cappuccino. The coffee was so-so, but was altogether even more disappointed that my poached eggs were not up to expectations at all. The egg yolk was not runny but semi-solid. The shape of the egg looked awkwardly small on top of the muffin. It was quite a let down.

However the only plus point was the service. I gave credit to how earnest and sincere the owner of the place was. He was very forthcoming to my feedback about the quality of the poached eggs. I hope the quality could be improved in the future.
